So many students, patrons and you from the community have been mentioning Skin of Skunk Anansie for years, yet she never rose to the top of the list. Thus, this “My Choice Tuesday” we’re going to find out what I’ve been missing, and there’s a lot! There is so much expression and depth in her voice, and yet the lyrics are so haunting that it’s near impossible to not feel choked up!
Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Skunk Anansie for the first time, performing “Weak”.

Listening to Skunk Anansie after all these years has reminded me of another band I loved in the 90s, Daisy Chainsaw. Katie Jane Garside was the singer with daisy chainsaw and over the years has sung with Queen Adreena and Ruby Throat, could be an interesting dive to see how her voice has aged.
You have to do Adam Duritz from The Counting Crows. No singer lives their songs lyrical content like Adam. So much emotion in his performances.
Check out their performance of Round Here on the Howard Stern Show, one of the greatest acoustic performances you'll ever hear.
I think they shot the video when they were over in the States.
Skin has one of the greatest and most unique voices to have come out of the UK in the last 30 years. I don't think the bands get the recognition in the media for the impact they made to the UK music scene.
Weak is probably their most mainstream popular song that they're known for its good but not their best, hedonism, and Charlie big potato are two more greats by skunk anansie to check out next hedonism is on the softer side while cbp is heavy industrial style
You should really check their unplugged concert Live in London to see what she's capable of in an intimate setting.
https://youtu.be/QRheEAeViSA Crazy Train live with Randy Rhoads!
Still got the blues for you by Gary Moore
Please react to freak on a leash live with amy lee
you should react to "how to disappear compelety" by radiohead
All of that record is really good! I love her voice!
Bruh Charlie Big Potato you're welcome
Elisabeth i will repeat this comment for as long as ut takes for you to react to it.
I am begging you please listrn to beatboxing songs.
There is a French artist named River who just put out a new song created by only his voice and i would love to see your analysis on it.

I saw Skin perform many years ago when she guess sang with a group called Therapy? she came on a sang a song with the band that unfortunately I can’t remember but her energy and stage presence was amazing and at the end of the song she took a massive leap of the stage into the crowd.
Waiting for chorus. And waiting, and waiting. Stil love your analysis.
Kingdom Come (manOwar)
Love Skin. The song Selling Jesus from the Strange Days film was great.
Charlie Big Potato. Nuff said
My main memory of an interview with Skin is that they went to the US and found their records in the rap sections of record stores.
When are you doing danzig? Also you should listen to something by the gathering.
You should definitely check out her duet with Pavarotti.
Insane live!
You should listen to 16th century greensleeves rainbow from rainbows first album!
Have The Tenors been featured on this channel yet? Their cover of Queen, Who Wants to Live Forever and the music video is quite exceptional.
Please listen to: Asaf Avidan – In a Box ll – Your Anchor
Please listen to Opus Brain by Igorr and iueD
This song is from the 90s, I was lucky enough to see Skunk Anansie for the first time live this year. Skin still sounds as good, and the whole band are still amazing.
Please find some recent live songs to compare.
Licking Cream is vocal coolness
I think Skin has the biggest mouth to body ratio ever. She's quite small. One of my favourite concert memories is from Skunk Anansie at Quart '99. I was stood center front by the fence and Skin jumped down from the stage into the photo pit, right in front of me, she reaching me to my shoulders in height, climbed the small steps on the fence and belted me in the face. I still get the chills from thinking about it.
(The next act on stage was Marilyn Manson, which was a let down after SA's show of force)
I love skin she scares me in all the right ways it’s like watching a high wire act and yeah more skin please she is easily in my top five female vocalists along with Adele and Alison moyet floor Jansen
Please review Paolo Nutini (Iron Sky Abby Road Sessions) The vocals alone are worth a view, But everything else makes it an embarrassment of riches. Operatic back up singers, lead singer feeling the music so much that he jumps around while singing. It truly is a wonderful live performance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELKbtFljucQ
Thank you <3
Hell yeahhhh, finally Skunk Anansie.
Next song suggestion: Charlie Big Potatoe 🤘
There is a live and acoustic version of this song https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lq-Aq3u7K00
gotta do their song "charlie big potato"
Skin is a sick vocalist! My favorite work of hers isn’t with skunk anansie, it’s the song Meat by Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath. It’s an awesome song. He also did one with Peter Steele.
Thanks for your videos, I love them. Analyze 緑黄色社会 – Shout Baby / THE FIRST TAKE
I think this is the first comment I ever did on any YT channel but I feel obliged to point out "You'll follow me down" by Skunk Anansie for further – and more emotional – performance by the fabulous Skin and the awesome band. I have had zero interest in actively singing but your heart warming way of analyzing the artists and songs that have left an impression on my life made me see the error of my ways. Even though my active singing is limited to the shower and singing to my daughter to put her to sleep. Please keep doing what you're doing!
Skin performing with Pavarotti on Pavarotti and Friends is well worth a watch/listen. Her performance is amazing.

Another great performance is Tracey's Flaw on Pavarotti and Friends.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZgcQ1j4Utg
Saw them live on my very first festival, gives back memories
recomend you check out Skin preforming live with Pavaroty stunning.
There was no auto tune in the 90s, not for bands like this. The rawness of the vocals was super important. I’m a bit annoyed you focused so much on the video, I was looking forward to hearing what your thoughts were on her vocal runs but you missed them because you were preoccupied by what was happening in the video, especially with the little kid. That was really disappointing.
Loved Skunk Anansie and Skin for years. She has so much power and control in her voice, and one of the most amazing live performers I've seen. Crowd Surfing Specialist!
I really love her with Sevendust on the track Licking Cream. Really nice mixing of voices.
She's an icon
Would love to see you react to
Jacques Brel – Ne me quittes pas. It's the dramatic interpretation of a song I've ever heard!
I love your channel! Thank you
one of the best voices in rock music.
