Join Mario on an epic paper-adventure to collect the Crystal Stars before the X-Nauts do! The nefarious X-Nauts are after the treasure behind the Thousand-Year Door! With a map from Princess Peach, and the help of a few locals, Mario journeys through a colorful world made of paper to find them first. To prevail in this quest, you’ll have to level up Mario and his friends, master timing-based attacks and badges to impress the audience on the stage of combat, and make use of all the abilities that come with being cursed—er, conveniently made of paper—like folding into a plane to cross big gaps or turning sideways to slip through narrow openings. Leaf through a storybook world with charming characters in every fold. Surprises abound in this deep and engaging tale, where everyone’s got something to say and it’s often not what you’d expect. Mario will meet all kinds of interesting folks on his journey, like the upbeat and studious Goombella and the shy but determined Koops. Some of these characters will need your help with their own quests, or even join your party. Others, like Peach and Bowser, have stories of their own that you’ll play between Mario’s chapters! A classic turns the page, bringing fresh visuals and updated features. Twenty years after the original game on the Nintendo GameCube system, this version for the Nintendo Switch system has revamped graphics, and a suite of additional changes that make the game easier than ever to enjoy.

  1. If your not going to show us you going to a place then you should really fight every enemy not run away. You may get only one star point but you'll need them anyway to level up. Lots of leveling because Need lots of BP for all those badges you haven't gotten yet. Like the strength up ones. And at some point all battles will be one star point. Which is something I really hoped they fixed in the remake but apparently not. Will be doing 100 fights just for a level up once again.😂 I would've liked that 5 was the lowest even would've been a improvement. So fight not run.

  3. Now that I have caught up. Some suggestions moving forward. Make adjustments to your Badges. Make sure to have Quake Hammer Badge on always because those are the key to dealing with shelled enemies like the buzzy beetles. Piercing Hammer straight up ignores defense of enemies so you can deal damage to them no problem. That badge does damage tied to the strength of your current hammer. The other badges you can keep.

Remember that spiked room you can't cross. Now that you have Vivian, you can phase in and out whenever spikes pop out. Getting past those spikes will get you a Spike Shield Badge so Mario can jump on spiked enemies no problem.

I would suggest checking with the Battle Master so you can have a better idea of certain moves you haven't used because Multibonk and the spin jump you can bounce on enemies more than two times as long as you get the timing right on each jump.

BTW, there are some badges and such that are in the Great Tree where the Punies live.

Also word of advice, having the notebook. You have so much honey syrup and mushrooms. Cook some of them to clear out your inventory. In that sense you won't need to always have to use that special.

  4. Ms. Mowz is great, but I want to talk about the importance of Zess T. Now that you found the Cookbook and completed Zess T's trouble, you will have a really useful tool for the Pit of 100 trials. Zess T can make some incredibly helpful items which will simultaneously replenish HP and FP so that you can use your Specials for powerful attacks on enemies instead of constantly wasting it to replenish your health and FP. Zess T can also make regular items too for cheap if you have the right ingredients (she can do incredible things with dried shrooms, for instance). I advise going into the Pit with some of her special desserts in your inventory, particularly the Jelly Ultra or some of her dinners (the Zess cookie, Zess dinner and Zess special are the most helpful). The most poweful item of all is created when Zess takes a Jammin' Jelly (which replenishes 50 FP) and combines it with an Ultra Shroom (50 HP), to make a Jelly Ultra. Such a useful item to refill you all the way (once you have levelled up to 50 HP and FP). I went into the Pit with a large number of those Jelly Ultras and they were incredibly helpful in allowing me to fight all the way to the bottom without dying multiple times.

I suggest that you don't try to fight to the bottom, though, until you have increased your HP and FP to at least 50. Since your HP is only at around 20, the best item for you to use after taking hits in battle would be the Maple Super, made from Maple Syrup and a Super Shroom. It replenishes 10 HP and 10 FP. (By the way, you should use more items in your battles, especially to restore health). In the Pit of 100 trials, it's also important to have some Fresh Juice or Healthy Salad with you to cure poisoning and replenish FP (made from turtley leaf and any syrup, or turtley leaf and horsetail). Zess T also does really great things with Fresh Pasta too, once you find that ingredient — the next best item after Jelly Ultra is her Zess Deluxe (Ultra + Fresh Pasta or Whacka Bump + Golden Leaf) to replenish 40 HP and 40 FP. Another item you should always have with you in the Pit is the Life Mushroom which can revive you or your partner from death. This is really important if you don't want to lose progress in a key battle or in the Pit. But don't waste your money on it: Zess T can very cheaply whip you up a Life Shroom using a regular Mushroom (cost 5 coins in Rogueport) and a Turtley Leaf (sometimes sold in the shop in Petalburg but also often found for free in the bushes around there).

One final tip about the Pit of 100 trials: increase your HP some more (to at least 30) and then fight your way down to level 50 so you can get the Strange Sack as soon as possible. The Strange Sack allows you to increase your inventory to 20 items. Get this item as soon as possible because it allows you to carry more of Zess T's helpful items, dishes and desserts for the key battles in later levels (which get harder and harder with more powerful enemies) or for fighting your way to the bottom of the Pit. Oh, and be sure to equip the Quake Hammer whenever you might encounter armoured, spiked buzzies or all turtle-like creatures as it flips them over to take damage if done right.
