Originally, they were planning on taking the ark straight to Hitler to be opened, but they chose the island because Indy was chasing them… So without Indy it would’ve been even better. 😅
Indy was tied up and didn't look when the ark was opened. The Nazis all died. Indy lived, got the ark and it was crated and buried in the Smithsonian treasures.
There was a deleted scene that showed that Indy only knew to close his eyes because of a warning in the back of the medallion. If Indy wasn't there, they would've seen the warning and possibly used the arc on others instead of opening and dying.
As for P & P , Lizzie isn't as observant of her bestie , it's made clear Charlotte was diggin' on Collins and was floating about the engagement, Lizzie crushed her happy moment resulting in Charlotte having to result to practical reasons to marry her crush. Making Lizzie a bit self absorbed. 😂
Considering that the original plan was to bring the Fuhrer the thing, I can only guess it's either they would open it for him (killing the big H in the process), or having a large ceremony for oepning it up (causing more people to die to the Ark).
Either way, Indy not being there would have basically caused a national tragedy, and the public proof that the Jews were right about their beliefs and deity.
So yeah, he basically blunted the end of the metaphorical spear.
I always found this whole plot dumb for two reasons: 1. I'm 90% sure that Raiders shows the Nazis tailing Indie to find Marion meaning without him they would never have known where to find her and 2. This criticism could be leveled at most treasure hunting stories. The main character doesn't contribute much to the overall plot other than a personality to go on a fun adventure with
Even if accurate and indie didnt have a pivotal role, thats not the point, the point is its a fun adventure to watch and acting like thats a bad thing is dumb.
And now the comment is turning into Sheldon's favor and ruining us both reader and movie watcher to consider what will happen when Indiana Jones wasn't included .😂
Except that the Americans would not have ended up with the Ark.
Without Indie, Marion would be dead. And that's kind of important.

Except for the fact without indie a lot more people including marion would be dead and the ark would still be with the nazis.
It was not the purpose of the story, the righter of bbt are so bad

The nazis have to follow indy to the lady with the amulet

Surprised it wasn’t about Indiana having a fling 10 years ago with a woman who is only 25 in the movie
Indiana Jones literally saved the girl, it's the only reason he exists in the movie

This got me thinking and ruined Lord of the Ring for me? Why didn't Frodo ride a sea eagle to Mt. Doom and destroy the ring?

They asked for it lol

Is that the manga adaptation??
