  2. 11:1211:25 for a person who doesn't kniw the lanscape of this region properly The Teesta was a typical mountain river -fast flowing, clean, narrow with undercurrent. After NHPC started building dams at various locations sometime around 2001 along NH10 (then NH31A in North Bengal and Sikkim, the river has drastically swelled, broadened and hardly flows (due to landslide debris and siltation from dam activities). Even in dry season, the Teesta flows less than 10 ft at some places.

  3. I thought the Print was a reliable news source. The reporter Ms.Das appears to have a lot of groud and background information which somehow she seems to be under costraint to talk openly.
