  1. ComicXposure customer service sucks. I made a purchase of multiple issues for around $275, no response for months. Never sent. Never replied and missed my window of filing a claim with my credit card. And I had made previous purchases without issue, now I avoid them completely.

  2. Hi John and Richard. The discussion a couple of episodes ago regarding Blip # 1 made me think of my copy of the book (it’s a Canadian Price Variant if you’re interested John). It has a date stamp on it as do a number of my comics that I purchased from my local drugstore in the early 80’s. I’m not a fan of these often misplaced stamps. What’s your opinion of date stamps? Love your content and the old fart rule.

  3. It's nice to find a comic book-related YouTube channel that brings up the great Jay Scott Pike. I've been picking up Young Romance issues with Alex Toth art whenever I come across them.

  4. Identity Crisis was a solid idea. If you were a hero with a secret identity, villains are gunning for you, the public boos you. Change your identity! It’s a great marketing idea from the heroe’s standpoint! Of course this didn’t last but I always thought from the heroes perspective, this makes a ton of sense. PS Peter should be married to MJ. You often hear, “Spider-Man shouldn’t be married to a super model! Makes him unrelatable!” Is the problem the marraige or the fact she’s a super model? That was not original to her character and was a mistake. Plus they undid the marriage to make him more relatable??? Spider-Man just fought his several times resurrected clone while he took control of Limbo over Madelyn Pryor. Not Hell but Limbo. Hell is where he made a deal with the devil to save his already resurrected Aunt May. Yea… the marriage makes him unrelatable.

  5. Speaking of pressing your own books, I’ve had a saved search on eBay for going on what seems like 2 years now for a “Seal Compress 110s.” I’ve not been able to pick up one of these via eBay in all that time due to either losing the auction or not wanting to pay > $100 in shipping.

Can you recommend any other press that is less difficult to acquire? I saw a few on Amazon but they scare me.

Digging the show as always; 🦾🐸

  6. That ‘Young Romance’ 150 would look amazing in a CGC 9.0+! I’m a big cover fan, I’ve always collected based on my favorite covers! Thanks for introduce to this one! Keep Richard calm with these Wonder Girl covers!! 😂 Great job guys!!

  8. CBCS makes no sense they should’ve been clearing out their backlog instead of taking new submissions in

They’re so backed up that they had to send out books to graders homes when those graders should have been at the job doing the work they claim they’re short staffed with graders but they somehow have half a dozen waiting by the phones and mailboxes

I had a Skottie young signed book and a book signed by Voice actor Billy west it’s going to cost more to grade it and authenticate the signatures than it’s worth

CBCS is a complete joke what person over there thinks making yourself more expensive and slower than the competitors is good business

They announced magazine slabs and who knows when those are coming because they don’t even know

All they have is verified signature authentication if it wasn’t witnessed

  9. Another great show! I seem to have this debate a lot lately in regards to RAW vs Slabs. I have only raw books but I have slabbed my high dollar books for financial reasons. What do you think? Depending on your buy in is a RAW book more valuable then raw books when you take away all the costs? I say it makes a book more valuable and when considering some values a graded book is more easily recovered if insured.

  10. Rich, that smell in old books is the by-product of decomposition, I believe the big two are sulfar dioxide and nitrogen oxide – I'm going to lengths to make sure my books do not smell via zeolite molecular traps in interleaving boards (the big brother to MicroChamber paper). So that old book smell isn't a guarantee that's its legit…I think those fakes are a accumulation of a lot of little red lags ignored in the hunger for 'a deal of the century'

  11. Aren't brickbats manufactured at the same plant as No-Prizes?
I'm just starting to pick up Bronze Age romance comics (DC's Young Love #125, Simonson cover and Toth art).
As you guys have mentioned in the past, slabbing preserves fragile comics which to me is more important than raising the value of the comic.
Peter and MJ had a baby?
Another fine show John and Richard, I wish you could do this show more often than once a week.

  12. I submitted three books to CBCS for signature verification last March and here we are a year later and there has been no progress on my submission. This was my one and only experience with them.

  13. I really, really wish D.C. would collect their romance titles into an omnibus. I have a trade paperback from years & years ago that I treasure. Also Lois Land…if anyone’s listening! Please & thank you! 🙏🏼

  15. Good afternoon Richard and John
Well gentlemen great show as always, but lets for a moment discuss brickbats, the show is to short by far, we need and crave more content, we need to have long rambles through the comicverse. Case in point we could have had a discussion on the romance genre that went on and on. Many of your offshore fans don't care so much for slabs or grades, but we do care for the comics that mean so much to our lives. So how about it guys? We love you guys, give us more!
