Referred to as the “Monster from the Sky,” a powerful F-5 tornado struck the heart of downtown Waco aroun 4:40 p.m. on May 11, 1953, killing 114 and leaving another 600 injured.

I have been studying and reading about the 1953 Waco Tornado since I first read Dudley Lynch's "Tornado – Texas Demon in the Wind" in the early 1970's. When I moved to the Waco area in 1980, I began meeting older citizens who had survived the storm and heard some amazing stories of tragedy and survival. This documentary is among the best on the subject regarding the human factor in Tornado disasters and is a well-made documentary of the tornado that changed Waco..
