2:17 Back when I was a little single digit child, I'll never forget the original Godzilla and Kong Kong movies. Godzilla also had a baby that blew out smoke circles, before hitting "puberty" to blow fire, in case people forgot. Godzilla is a female. And Kong also later found his primate mate. They too later had a baby. I broke down sobbing when Kong "died" falling from the Empire State Bldg. I was probably only 6 or 7 whenever that happened.
So do not forget, these new "universes" people nowadays keep inventing are (to me and my generation) ruining our childhood, IMHO. Not that these childens give a care.
Godzilla X Kong was exactly what it was meant to be, an entertaining action packed movie that paid homage to the silliness and comedic style of the Showa era.
I might be getting ahead of myself buuuut Is this their way of simply moving the fighting going on above ground down to the other king kong and Gia's people down the road. Sounds ok to me
If you ever saw Godzilla vs Megalon or Godzilla vs Gigan, you would see what this is trying to be
People saying they wanted the humans to play more of a role don't understand why people watch Kaiju movies. GxK was a blast from beginning to end.
Every Godzilla era starts off serious then moves to goofy kaiju brawls. Also the story in GxK was actually good, the humans just aren't the main heroes which is how a kaiju movie should be.

If you know the Godzilla eras from the original, Showa, Heisei, Millenium and now Reiwa, you'd probably see the inspiration the Monsterverse gets. The monsterverse is both serious and can also be goofy. To me it hasn't fallen off with this latest one, it embraces the lunacy that's a throwback to Showa of that physical brawl and fun fights.
My husband is a godzilla nut lol have to go see everyone. The oldest to the newest . 😂

The tribe's apes were scarking's slaves digging for something. Saw it twice alreaday, loved the action and the role monarch has in the world. I thought the story was good. Nothing too hard to understand

Monster action, that is all I need from these movies, so thank you and your Dad. I will check it out. I'll know to just turn off the brain and enjoy the action. Sometimes, that is all I want. That is how I have enjoyed the other movies in this monster universe.
This movie was bananas. there was some cinema in the 2nd act; otherwise do not use your brain. Just see this on the Michael Bay spectrum… it was somewhere between Transformers 3 and 1 good. OK it was Transformers 2… including destroying pyramids. Shoot. It was just Trans 2 with a gorilla and lizard.

I think if they unlinked the mouths to the voices it would make sense.
At this point in time, a focus on reality would get better mileage, than any fantasy flick.

It's not hard to understand Kong explores the hollow earth only to discover that there's more great apes being ruled by a dictator so he needs Godzilla helpto fight dictator and his guard dog who he's controlling.
Lauren… In the beginning of Hannibal the credits are on the screen and in the background is a black & white pano of some famous Italian piazza where pigeons are feeding. When 1/2 the pigeons fly off Hannibal’s face is left on the ground made of pigeons. My brother watched the movie 5X’s and I pointed it out to him. He asked “HTF did you notice that? I asked HTF he missed it”

The Blue backdrop when the man goes out in the blizzard to throw the pistols into the Outhouse is your Key.

@lauren , with respect kaiju giant monster film fans only want monsters, with very minimal human drama. The kaiju action are the primary storypoints, the humans are the supporting characters.
I enjoyed it. Do literally hate every movie lol this was just a silly acrion monsterverse movie, it did what it was supposed to do.
