A plea for aid, a cry for help
Echoes softly through the night
A voice in need, a heart that’s felt
The weight of pain and fright
Who is it that calls out in need?
What burden weighs upon their soul?
What solace can we give and heed
To make their broken pieces whole?
We may not know the words to say
Or have the answers they seek
But we can offer love today
And strength to lift the weak
So let us lend a listening ear
And hold their hand through darkened strife
For in our compassion they’ll find clear
The hope to face a brighter life
