If it works like the demo, you can start advancing to another age and then even if the crisis « requirements » are met it will keep you on track for the age you had selected.

always playing the same way. Instead of going something different of what we have seen in the last episode, you go for the same thing. And about the goverment, it is really simple, 'Kingdom' is for having vassals (not upgrading to capital); 'Imperial Dynasty' is for having a lot of capitals. The concept of "wide" and "tall" are not valid in this game, or at least, not in the same way as you think about Civilization.
