MIDNIGHTS ALBUM REACTION + 3AM TRACKS (I get to do a Taylor Swift reaction video WITH someone?!)

HEY BESTIES HERE IT IS 🥰

As always, thank you for watching and listening along with me. I think 11 year old me who exclusively listened to Taylor alone (because shy outcast with superior music taste) would cry if she could see how I get to share my love for Taylor’s music today. Come chat with me in the comments about all things midnights and all it makes us feel 🥺

Getting to do this with Nina was extra special because a year ago I wouldn’t have dreamed of doing this in front of anybody. Being vulnerable around people is scary for me, but also just LOVING things in front of people is an extra scary type of vulnerable (gotta love all the residual shame leftover from all the times someone made us feel bad/ weird/ stupid for loving something). I hope watching with us brings you the soft, safe space that I’ve been so fortunate to realize I have when I’m with Nina.

  1. 18:06 I personally think she meant something more along the lines of "sexy babe" rather than sexy baby. Like if she's the monster, she feels like the people around her are like the pretty damsels in distress, somebody you'd might call a "hot babe" and then she made that "sexy baby" to fit and rhyme better

  2. edit: to add to the 'sexy baby', i feel like its just people who naturally have this strong and amazing presence in a room. if taken literally, its like how babies are conventionally seen as cute or something lol. meanwhile shes like a monster who quickly catches eyes and has to explain herself and stuff. ive definitely been there. i wish i just naturally could go along with people but im too hyperaware of myself to think normally.

also at 2:30 thats perfectly fine! i am also one to listen to the songs as is, with the occasional tidbits of easter eggs/trivia from fan channels and accounts. i often claim some songs as my own and give my own meaning to them and it still works <3

on a side note, dear reader hit me like a truck. its like a warm embrace but a painful reminder…? it gives me 'the archer' vibes? where i need to remind myself of these things i need to be doing to care for my wellbeing, stuff like that. a nice outro to the album thats for sure.

  3. Whn you were talking about good, the beauty of it is that its far more complicated than just "do good without benefit" and "don't do good for your sole benefit". Conscious good is a cocktail of motivations and the crux of it is if it's actually implementing a better outcome

  4. I am so happy I got recommended this. Wonderful, kind, emotional. I will be binging you like crazy. Maroon is by the way God tier with All Too Well and Tolerate It. How dare she with the same 26 letters I have.

Overall, this has become my favorite Taylor album. Dethroning 1989 shy of a decade. This is that Era to evermore encapsulated in just Jack Antanoff greatness. I can't stay up to 3 am though. Some are good but the main 13 are chef's kiss
