This is my favourite version of my favourite song of John's. It gives me chills every time. The whole concert is amazing. John's humour & passion, his talent & vocal abilities & soul shine through. And you can tell he's loving his time singing for everyone. I love his rapport with his audiences and his appreciation for his band & the backup singers & the Orchestra. Great reaction 💕
Not many people remember that John Farnham is that good, after Freddy Mercury died, Queen asked him to join them. He didn’t want to be on the road that long.
And to think thats the song he closed with and his voice was still perfect he finished singing and his speaking voice was fine
Lennon was amazingly pleased with Johns change up of his song and how well he sung it. However he did go on to say he was slightly annoyed he didnt do it first himself as this was roughly how he originally intended for the song to be sung, but was forced by Producers to up the tempo into rock and roll instead of as a ballad. So he missed out recording this song like he wanted to. He also died within the year.
Also Tina Turner was also impressed with the slow change up and did her own cover version of the song very similar to John's.
This stadium is in Melbourne, and holds about 15,000 people. Concerts always sold out. Aussie Legend

He always puts 110% into his performances. I have heard him say in interviews that when he is picking his songs he won’t do them unless he can feel the lyrics.
