Here's two things that happen while using this rod for Megalodon. i speak from experience.
1) You catch it 1st try or 5th and live happily ever after
2) You don't catch it 5th try, and never catch it again. (Actually though. If you don't catch early, it literally will never hook onto you. My friend using reinforced got it 4 times in on go, missed all 4, while I used this rod and never hooked it ONCE).
