Housing within a mile of the launch pads? Not a chance.
Wow! The means to get around the EPA and wildlife freaks is going into overdrive! This is one of the hardest solutions to find, as most government departs aren't will to work with private enterprise. The housing issue will need a price that doesn't attract the retirement community from NY, that look for cheap housing in the South. They will buy low, move in, and complain about the dangers. Offer a price cut for SpaceX employees to best vet the buyers.

Wow! its gonna be a rocket forest! I hope they do night launches just for the aesthetics… Can you imagine how inspirational it would be to see dozens of Starships launching together in flights of fleets on the way to the Moon and Mars?!?!
And that its a process, where more fill in behind and another launch, rinse and repeat!
And lines of trucks and busses continuous with people and cargo loading. the interplanetary hub of Earth. Cant wait to see the 3 letter designation tags for my baggage going thru Starport to Lunar City, and connecting flight to Mars.
Given that Boca Chica is the primary production center and the volume of launches that necessary to meet their goals, I would not be surprised if SpaceX does not develop another launch facility dedicated solely to preparing, provisioning, and launching the ships to space. Build them at Boca Chica, fly them to the alternate launch center, to prep them for space launch. Infrastructure to support space flight would be at that facility. That would allow Boca Chica to focus on development, testing, and production.
If SpaceX wants to launch so many Starships their going to need more than two (Boca & Kennedy) launch sites
No wonder why he wants to go to Mars, as he is plowing under natural wetlands. He is destroying the natural wilderness
I wonder about SpaceX's continuing and long term business model. What Musk wants to do via Mars will take Trillions in capitol and he claims that Starlink is not expected to be in direct competition with legacy internet providers. So, how will SpaceX make tillion$ via space industry?
Musk's SpaceX is currently market driven, so is the demand strong enough and long term enough to reach his goals?
The exchange of land is more of Elon's genius. Offer them a deal they can't say no to. Just like his thread offering 6 billion dollars if someone can show how to solve world hunger of his X thread. He said he will sell Tesla stock worth $6B and donate it to solve world hunger if someone can show him how to do it for $6B.
