MEGA Vintage & New Locomotives Mail Unboxing – And So Much More!

A fair bit of time has passed since I did my last mail unboxing so I figured it was time to do another one.

I sure wasn’t expecting what was sent this time – Many project locomotives were sent in along with rolling stock. Another person sent in some 3D printed houses and lighting kits.

There was also two large boxes of new in the box British locomotives mostly made by Hornby.

Huge thanks to everyone who sent all the contents in this video!

  1. I've got six vehicles ( HO ish) if you want but need a box number/or other, destination as I dont do FB or inst etc It seems that two are slightly bigger but would be ok depending on placement

  2. You are a lucky man to get all the stuff just given to you and very well deserved too I might I add..
I mean just the hornby items there is at least 1500 to 2k aus/d worth of trains easily. Very Lucky indeed.
Great video too and thanks formit ,, but YouTube's ads during your 44.02 minits video is bloody ridiculous and i hope they are paying you well as there were 2 ads up to 40 seconds long in every 4 mins and was soo friggen annoying. I know its not your fault but YouTube certainly got there advertising $$$ out of your video today.
Anyhoo nice running the last lot of pullmans there in the last bit of the video.
    Cheers from John in Australia.

  4. American HO to British 00 Translation

The hornby coaches are pullman coach's which are very popular 00 gauge coach's.

DDC ready I belive means it has DDC with no DDC futures liek lights or sound.

00 gauge is the same track gauge as HO the difference is British is a larger size in order to fit in with HO scale more.

The A4 is Mallard 4468 in LNER blue. Mallard was the A4 that broke the steam speed record of 126 mph and the reason the cab detail lots different is mainly because even high end britsh steam locomotives dont have separately fitted parts.

The deltic is a class 55 with the delitc name beening its nickname and its in BR green livery

Also, all the British locomotives are very high-end locomotives, and you don't really get any more high-end trains. And I agree with you it must have cost a fortune. I could probably work out the price but I'm just going to leave it.

  7. Appledore is a Southern Railways West Country pacific in rebuilt condition without the "air smoothed casing"
City of Coventry is a de-streamlined Princess Coronation pacific. The stepped running plate under the front of the smoke deflector is the giveaway of a de-streamlined Coronation. The un-streamlined locos as built had a curved running plate at the front. No.6200 Coronation held the world speed record at 114mph until she lost it to Mallard. A Mallard is a duck.
Mallard the world speed record holder but only just as one of the engines bearings overheated on the run. A design flaw was the Gresley designed bearings not fixed until BR days when they were replaced with Great Western Railway marine type bearings which didn't overheat at high speed.
Dominion of Canada was offered to Canada for free with free shipping costs. Commonwealth of Australia was offered to Australia provided Australia paid for it and the shipping costs too. Australia declined to do so and so Commonwealth of Australia was scrapped.
City of London is a 4-4-0. She's NOT an Atlantic which is a 4-4-2
The Deltic is a production version for the prototype is in the National Railway Museum at Shildon in light blue the only livery it ever wore. The Deltics were named after British military regiments or racehorses and Pinza was a racehorse.
The Pullman coaches (not cars) are from the later builds in steel. Hornby also did the early wooden sided coaches. The arrows on some coaches you have depict the Golden Arrow service from England to France but in those days the Pullman coaches remained in England and the passenger crossed the channel by ferry.
The Battle of Britain class has the "air smoothed" casing. The locos in that form had a chain driven valve gear. In later years one of the BoB locos was fitted with a Giesel Oblong Ejector chimney and was said to be as powerful as a Merchant Navy. The preserved West Country 'City of Wells' is fitted with a Giesel Ejector chimney.
The crests on the tenders of Appledore and City of Coventry are known as a late crest fitted from the mid 1950's there was an earlier crest to known as the 'Lion on wheel' emblem but a less flattering one was a ferret on a dartboard.

  8. I bought a "lot" off eBay. Just got it. I am a fan of Hyce he's a engineer at the D&RGW and 1 of the cars in the lot was a D&RGW gondola. It turns out it's a 1938 VARNEY. And also coal car thats a 1961 VARNEY. The rest are bachmann or unbranded. It also has a babe Ruth sound car. Added a few new road names too. The D&RGW the Virginian SOO LINE Burlington Northern. The cars mainly need couplers. All great condition.

  10. Hey man, I've been watching you for a long time and I really enjoy your content. I know you do a lot of unboxing videos and I was wondering if I could send you 5 of my own locomotives and maybe you can do a video of unboxing and running them. I look forward to hearing back from you.
