  1. Im a new player play a good bit too. I feel like if the card I want isnt in the spotlight i'm not getting any cards. I've saved up two Cache's and opened 1. But what I want is more series 3 cards. I'm sitting on 0 tokens. Got Zabu pinned really want him. I have 1400 gold from buying pass. My point is I cant get the card I want. Zabu. And all the other cards I really want are series 3. It doesn't feel great for me though. Maybe in the long run it will not sure.

  2. I was running the W Thanos list last night, game 3 of Gold Conquest, and ran into a deck that was clearly "I hate Thanos". It was running Echo, Rogue, and Enchantress. I got clowned on and I kept forgetting about Echo and playing into it. The fact that Echo makes it easy to misplay is a big part of the card's power. For what its worth, I've subbed Luke Cage for Armor in that list just because of the amount of Phoenix Force, Nimrod, and Destroy running around.

  3. 49:11 it’s not a matter of being unable to understand how the odds work, it’s a matter of whether it should be a prerequisite to not get f*cked that you know the meta of card acquisition. I firmly believe you shouldn’t have to join social media (discord is same shit) AND follow specific creators rather than official channels to know how to use the system to improve your rate, rather than have your acquisition greatly halted compared to prior.

Adding RNG exclusive, due to the massive restriction of F2P tokens, card acquisition and thinking it “solves,” anything doesn’t make sense. It does make sense from a predatory standpoint, where people can’t just budget tokens casually and wait to pin in shop. You have to engage in gambling

  4. For all the criticism the game itself gets, shout out to the creator community for Snap, I can't think of a game with a better community of creators and virtually zero drama, it's so refreshing.

  5. Alex was the first content creator for marvel snap I ever watched. The man is a great ambassador for the game and you can tell that he genuinely loves it and is interested in helping the community grow. He's like the father of snap. Loved the episode as always and love hearing Alex's perspective on the topics discussed about the game.

  6. I hate the new system. Since it released, I used 4 Spotlight Caches that I believe I already had saved up, and that got me The Living Tribune, Jean Grey, and Spider-Man 2099. All of those cards came at one time. Now I'm saving up Spotlight Caches (have 2). I already had like 3k Collector's Tokens saved up and now I have something like 4.5k. Nebula would've dropped Series, but since they stopped doing that, I have to save up 6k. How is this system good for me again? And are they charging more for the Collector's Tokens now? Because I can't afford to buy the weekly bundle. I keep hearing how this system is more generous but I have lost control (could've picked exactly what cards I wanted in the shop), cards aren't getting reduced anymore, I've lost Collector's Tokens because they were reduced on the tracker…There is absolutely no way you can convince me I'm getting more when I was catching with the old system and now I'm falling further and further behind.

  7. KM is such a grouch compared to Alex man. He is so negative about the game he "loves" so much while Alex is the most honest and "credit is due where credit is due" person. Very interesting. 🤔

  8. Alex is completely wrong about the Collection track. I've been Series 3 complete for some time now. Looking at the volume of cards I acquired in May (9), June (4), July (3) so far.
I don't expect to have a complete collection at any given time, but ripping open Caches that currently feel like a dead zone over time makes me want to play less. The first Spotlight [SL] cache I'd opened was a Variant, which feels pretty damn insulting looking at how many actual cards I don't have.
The new system has the SL caches 30 boxes apart, so for someone playing casual competitive may only acquire 1 a week and on use there's a high percentage that what you pull is going to feel bad when you've been saving for a specific week and get cards that aren't even being featured.
IMO, Second Dinner has a decent idea with the SL system, but they need to make the points in between more relevant because right now the SL system feels like it's just there for Noobs and Whales leaving everyone in the middle out to hang.

  9. I just wanted to say, it is absolutely fantastic seeing Alex on, I really like seeing a more casual take on some of these changes layered with the competitive view. It can be really easy to be disconnected from the casual viewpoint, and I think it's extremely valuable to have an idea of how these things affect those players as well.

  10. I was skeptical of Alex as a guest. I am really not in the target audience for his content. (I would rather watch people like Lamby!) … But I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked.

  11. The impulse to gamble has NOTHING to do with intelligence. Please stop saying quit being stupid, when this system isn't about intelligence, it's about impulse control. Some of us literally have mental health conditions that make this harder for us than others.

  12. We probably all know someone like this. But how I can convince one of my closest friends that he is been stupid if he has open one box every week (he opens a box every time he can) and he has all the new cards (yes, three boxes three new cards) and here I am hoarding and haven’t open a box in two and a half week. 😅
