This is the Martin JRM Mars water bomber’s last flight on August 11, 2024 before it is mothballed in the British Columbia Aviation Museum in North Saanich BC. It is accompanied by 9 Canadian Air Force CT-114 Tutors – the Snowbirds. I took the video in Beacon Hill Park, Victoria. I have watched it pickup water in both Sproat Lake (it’s home base) and Okanagan Lake where it was used on large forest fires. My Dad took me to see the Snowbirds when they first flew in the mid-60’s and I was so enthralled to be in the right place at the right time to capture this video.
