  1. Aaaay, first comment! Love you, welonz, your playthroughs are the best!

Edit: mars does have two moons, phobos and deimos, phobos is one of the least reflective astral bodies in our galaxy so I believe you're looking at Deimos, who is a lot smoother and does reflect some light, which would explain that it looks like a blue star. Fun fact, the names come from a scene on the Iliad where Ares (Mars) summons Dread (Deimos) and Fear (Phobos), who are also described as being his twin sons in other works.

  2. What in the name of all that is Holy is this story doing?

It literally just rendered Isaac's whole "Earth is unsavable" thing completely, absolutely false. Mars never made sense as a permanent base anyway, because the red sand we see is oxidation. It's literally rust. It gets into everything and sticks in worse ways than any Earth sand does. Even with a working Earth like we currently have, it's extremely questionable whether we'd actually set up anything more than Antarctic-style research bases there. I could see them stabilizing their Earth enough to make a Mars base a viable option for research, but without continued support from Earth there was never any chance for a Mars project to matter.

  3. I think they brought Katie still due to her expertise. It's just that now they have multiple objectives involving apprehending the others and most likely to convince Isaac.

The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that Isaac wasn't inherently hating on Claire. It's simply a culmination of a.) being the eldest sibling, b.) different ideals c.) Isaac being devoted to his job. The last point in particular probably stems from him wanting to give her daughters a better (or an actual) future. Now that doesn't excuse him for being an overall bad parent, but it was clear intention wasn't negative at all.

  4. I would argue the overworking would be the biggest factor in not having kids, no energy and no time to do it, plus if you do have a kid where do you get the time to care for them. the uncertain future is just the cherry on top that made sure nobody did.

  5. They have it rough because they went with 3 arks and lost one on their way to Mars. So they operate with people and resources from 2 Arcs. And the top guy clearly has no idea he can end everything in failure if people work to long and too hard.

If anyone is found alive by the end of the game its going to be something.
