  3. Acts 20 Paul's Farewell to the Ephesians
17And from Miletus, having sent to Ephesus, he called for the elders of the church.

18And when they had come to him, he said to them, “You know from the first day on which I arrived in Asia, how I was with you the whole time, 19serving the Lord with all humility and tears, and trials having befallen me in the plots of the Jews; 20how I did not shrink back from declaring to you anything being profitable, and teaching you publicly and from house to house, 21earnestly testifying both to the Jewish and to Greeks repentance in God and faith in our Lord Jesus.b

22And now behold, bound in the Spirit I go to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me in it, 23except that the Holy Spirit fully testifies to me in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me. 24But I make my life neither dear nor any account to myself, so as to finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus: to testify fully the gospel of the grace of God.

25And now, behold, I know that all of you among whom I have gone about proclaiming the kingdom will see my face no more. 26Therefore I testify to you in this day that I am innocent of the blood of all. 27For I did not shrink back from proclaiming to you the whole counsel of God.

28Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has set you overseers, to shepherd the church of God,c which He purchased with the own blood.d 29I know that after my departure, grievous wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock, 30and out from your own selves, men will rise up, speaking perverse things to draw away disciples after them. 31Therefore stay awake, remembering that three years night and day I never ceased admonishing each one with tears.

Such a humourous way to deliver such a deep message. The humour made it easier to swallow the bitter pill. Thank You Lord.
