Mail Time | vintage Twinlock binder with AEI logo

An extremely interesting find, dating to between 1928 and 1968, with a AEI logo.

  1. I've seen a couple of Twinlock binders for sale and have hesitated to get one for two reason. 1. The shipping from the UK is more than the binder itself. 2. I was unsure of the dimensions needed for the inserts. Now I know they are not the same (at least the one I was looking at) as the personal size inserts. Thank you for sharing and hope your recovery proceeds swiftly.

  2. This is a beautiful binder! The history that it's seen! Made me wonder if my dad had anything similar as he worked for the SEC (State Electricity Commission of Victoria)? I'll never know

  3. I also love that whoever used this binder, also used a Filofax! When you were explaining the extra punched holes!
And a question as I can't tell watching this on my phone, but are the dividers made by someone do you think, or a product bought/supplied for the binder???

  4. Very nice binder, indeed. I believe, it could accommodate A6 paper (or a bit narrower than A6) better than it would (Filofax) personal size.

I have a lovely binder with the same ring mechanism spacing, but alas it's a little narrower. I don't know who made it, but it has engraved "Real Leather. Made in England."

I use paper 70x148mm, which is exactly one third of an A5 or one sixth of an A4 piece of paper; so that I don't wast a single square millimeter or paper when I cut my inserts from either size paper.
