Mail Time – UEVR

Device: Meta Quest 2 via CableLink 3kx3k 90hz
Controls: PS5 DualSense
PC: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X + 4090 + 64GB RAM –
Injection: OpenXR Native Stereo and Skip Draw
UE 4.27.2

Had quite a few issues with this one. It works pretty much perfectly in OpenXR but trying to get it into OpenVR so I could showcase the very cute UI was a challenge. Seemed to crash on injection even after -nohmd, renaming the exisiting plugins, deleting them, having the -emulatestereo on. Only solution was to set SteamVR as the openXR runtime. Performed worse compared to when Oculus was running it.

Otherwise game is extremely wholesome and you are a little delivery person who explores a miniature nature wonderland and speaks to cute talking animals. Just came out today and would recommend it even based on my short first impression.

Came across a UI bug where I got a badge and it wouldn’t disappear until I reloaded, but that may be launch day bugs in the game rather than the UEVR mod. 9:37 talking to Snowdrop.
