ASV/ASSA Lunar Eclipse Live Stream
We are pleased to announce the Astronomical Society of Victoria in conjunction with the Astronomical Society of South Australia will be streaming the November 8th lunar eclipse live online via ASV/ASSA Facebook, YouTube & Twitch!!
That’s right! You can watch the lunar eclipse from the comfort of your home!
During the eclipse, the Moon will pass into the Earth’s shadow creating a beautiful spectacle. From southeastern Australia, the Sun will be setting in the West just as the partially eclipsed Moon is rising in the East, providing a unique local experience.
The part of the Moon in eclipse will appear either dark red or orange in colour due to sunlight filtering through Earth’s atmosphere and falling upon the lunar surface – in effect, the light of a thousand sunsets and sunrises on Earth being projected onto the surface of the Moon!
Our Live Stream team will have telescopes stationed around Victoria and will stream the eclipse live into your home! So be sure to follow our pages & turn on notifications so you don’t miss this event! Because if you do you’ll be seeing red!
