  2. Kellen Winslow, Charlie Joiner, John Jefferson, Wes Chandler and the Coach himself Don Coryell I was in high School during these years in San Diego and in my humble opinion if we had even an good defense we would of won multiple Super Bowls it was a great time to be a San Diego Chargers fan!

  3. Chris, that’s a pretty solid Mount Rushmore for that Charger’s history. It’s kind of hard to imagine not having Kellen Winslow and Antonio Gates as well. I’ve always felt the Dan Fouts didn’t get the recognition that he deserved. Also, I don’t think he got the respectable sendoff that he had earned.

  4. Jr. Seau .. I was in high school during the Fouts era great offense but terrible defense and average defense would have won them Super Bowl after Super Bowl.. Air Corral era.. The real west coast offense !!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️🏈🏈🏈

  5. I dont know how i could read through the comments and not see a single mention of Antonio Gates. Also, Rivers is up there. Sadly for defensive guys its pretty thin, which has been our achilles heel for most of the franchise history. that said, Harrison, Leslie Oneil, Jamal Williams, and I will throw in Billy Ray Smith, are some of our best defensive guys. Offensively, people have already said so many of the big ones. Bambi, Winslow, Rivers, and Gates are my picks for our top offensive guys on top of what was in the article. Maybe Chandler or joiner too.

  7. Wes Chandler had over 1,000 yards…in 8 games. The strike put a stop to his insane 1982 season. His average of 129 yards receiving per game that year is STILL an NFL record. BONUS: Ralph Macchio wore the #89 Chandler jersey in the Karate Kid. #boltup

  8. Ad to your Mount Rushmore…
Maybe TE – Kellen Winslow (SR.) the first TE to be a primary WR threat (not an afterthought on occasion) catching for 1000-yard seasons. When Winslow retired he was in the top 15 OT Receivers (But he wasn't a WR). Basically, when Winslow retired, he was one of the all time greatest Receivers and yet didn't play "Receiver". His career was cut short due to injuries.
HC – Coach Don Coryell – The NFL liked how the Chargers could fill the seats at any stadium when they played, so they then changed a lot of rules to basically reward teams to be more like them, this is why you see 300 yard passing games and 4000 yard seasons when they were unheard of before adn it was more of a "3 yards and a cloud of dust" league.
HC – Sid Gilman (Don Coryell before Don Coryell),
OT – Ron Mix (OT not as sexy a pick, but…),
DE – Fred Dean who played before they counted "sacks" and it is estimated he would have around 100 is they did. He later played for the 49ers and Joe Walsh said the 49ers don't win a single Super Bowl if they didn't have him.
WR – Charlie Joiner – 12,136 yards and 65 TDs

How about Undrafted FA TE – Antonio Gates?

    The San Diego Chicken.

Honorable mention – Wes Chandler – Held some Receiving record that was eventually broke by Jerry Rice, but Wes Chandler did it in a strike season and only had 8 or 9 games to do it, Jerry Rice had 16.
Players that played at some point for SD Chargers:
    QB – Johnny Unitas
    DE – Deacan Jones

  9. Good Call….. TE Luke Benson. I just looked up his Syracuse Highlights because you mentioned him. IDK how fast he is, but nobody ever caught up with him in the highlights. Showed him blocking, and going off on dudes, and…. his special team tackles were great/smart. Appreciating I'm watching his "highlights" but still, I'm excited. Now, we have to talk about Alworth. … all you said was… "Alworth" and you said it with a question mark… Dude!!! He wasn't just breaking the receiving records, he was Obliterating them!!! Look him up. Would you please do right by him. You guys do a great job, and love your channel. (i love the Lions, and has been my favorite helmet since I was a kid)

  10. Been ready for 40 years my man. We don’t run our mouths until we have something to get excited about. The Jaguars playoff game – at halftime they could have been up by 50 and I wouldn’t have felt comfortable. If the chargers are competitive and win games with physicality and dominance – that’s all I can ask for. That and a Super Bowl. Chargers vs. Lions in 2024-25 Super Bowl would be a dream come true. Harbaugh is the first coach since Marty I feel can take us there. They did Marty so dirty – I think ownership has really done everything they can to make a winner here and win back fans who are still mad at how they treated Schottenheimer. Bolt up!

  11. I thought I would NEVER see the day "other" fans around the league would jump aboard the Bolts bandwagon. NEVER !!! This just does not happen in this NFL universe. Could this be a part of some devious ploy ? 😮 😅 Last years game against the LIONS was a blast. Met way cool LIONS fans at the local pub in San Antonio. Great game between two championship starved teams !!! Prediction: CHARGERS vs. LIONS Super Bowl in the next 2 years. Party on dudes !! 🎉
