I've been inside there a couple of times. They were getting their computer systems hacked and needed to secure the system.
Watching this video was disappointing. These are Air Force personnel, not some town cop on patrol. The California Penal Code about recording police doesn't apply to them. Neither does the policy of identifying themselves. It would have been different if you had schooled yourselves on Federal law and then cited relevant CFRs on the issues. You never mentioned the 2010 DHS memo¹ (updated in 2018)² that reaffirms the Right to Record the exterior of Federal facilities. Neither did you challenge their assumption that they had any authority OFF BASE! They get a D grade for their antagonistic behavior, but the two of you get an F.

What's odd is I never have these kind of problems with the security at military bases. I pull up to the gate with my GoPro running, red light flashing showing I'm recording, and the most common thing the security police say is, "Get any good video?" I wonder why I get such a different response? One cop even asked me to do a wheelie while leaving the gate.
