Don't level up until you farm early and get all the vigor you need, once you level up higher and try to do this again the scarlet reaper will drop much less vigor
Is the afk farm patched? I tried it maybe 5x or more now in various positions along the back right of the platform facing away and every time I just get the floor lighting up on the opposite side but never a spawn death.

Many people are saying this method is patched but I don't think it is. I think those people aren't aware of the necessary positioning where you need to be basically almost falling off the edge of the platform for the Reaper to actually spawn under it and die.
As of the writing of this comment (10/17/2023 @4pm EST in the US) this method still works on PS5. I am fully updated, I made absolutely sure I didn't have an update pending and I had the notification that the game was updated during rest mode as well. Just make sure you're at the very, very edge of the platform, like almost falling off, and the reaper will continue to spawn under the platform and die and his loot and souls will land on the land to either side of the platform. It lands on the side you last touched so basically the side you came to the platform from is the side it will spawn loot to.
Note: Once the loot and souls start to really build up, they will make the game chug – hard – even in performance mode on PS5. Face your camera away from the loot pile and it will maintain a much better frame rate. This is important because it can absolutely cause the game to crash eventually if you don't periodically siphon the souls up, and when that happens and you go to reload it will spawn you not on the moving platform but on the spot where the loot is, in the Umbral and with the Reaper timer still active/maxed, and the Reaper can and will kill you if you're low level. Unsure if this destroys the souls you haven't siphoned, but it's just a gamble anyways. Don't wanna lose all your shit, so if this happens, be sure to quickly pull your lantern out and siphon them. That way even if he kills you, you can just run back and collect it.
Last Note: The Umbral Scourings he drops will remain in the game world even after respawning from death so don't worry about collecting them in the Umbral with the Reaper chasing you because you're worried they will despawn or something.
I tried option 3 and it didnt work for me. I probably did something wrong though. Sigh…
I've been trying to do the reaper farm on PS5, but he stays underground and doesn't die like in the video

I can confirm that it has indeed been fixed! left my char last night and grinded a few hundred thousand vigor andd was gonna do that again on a new char but it has been fixed

This migjt be a dumb question but I just got the game on PS5, disc version, and havent installed it yet. If i turn off auto updates and install will the glitch still work? Or will the patch be included in the install?

The AFK farm still works on PS5. The first time the reaper died he dropped like 12k then the drops progressively got lower and lower.

Yh it still works guys but the xp is getting lower now I might stop iv made 300k and it’s now giving me 1k each time it dies and it takes like another 3mins for another reaper to appear so idk
just got all my levels deleted for a bug while i was playing with a friend of mine, so if the devs cant makes the game glitchy i'm gonna exploit this so much now, i was at the end of the game with almost level 100
I’m literally level 751 with 700,00,000 blue bugs worth 72 B just do the duplication glitch it’s actually easy on ps5 disable auto save press option on the game until it gives you sync data option and press download you do this everytime you drop something for your friends just keep pressing download to refill the items you dropped to your friends
