LONE WOLF BOOK 4 – THE CHASM OF DOOM PART I – LIVE PLAY THROUGH

After some considerable delay (life – you know how it is…) Lance continues his epic quest to play the entire series of The Lone Wolf choose your own adventure books. First created in the 1980s, these choose your own adventure books were a stable of Lances childhood, but also fuelled his imagine with the vivid world created by Joe Dever & Gary Chalk. Now re-released and updated, Lance intends to complete the series he started 35 years ago.

(See an interview on the channel with August Hahn, one of the key architects of the new editions of the series)

In this adventure series Lance plays The Lone Wolf, the last of the Kai, the protectors of the kingdom of Summerland, in the Northern Kingdoms of Magnamund. The Kai are the protectors of the realm, practising mystical defensive arts at the Kai Monastery which has just fallen to a surprise attack from the servants of an old enemy. With the order of the Kai lying in smoking ruins, Lone Wolf believes he is the last of their kind.

Having fought his way through to the Kingdoms capital of Holmgard and warned its king, that the order of the Kai has been all but annihilated, (actual photo may not represent Lone Wolf, more, Lone Lancey) The King then charged Lone Lance, to travel to the nearby Kingdom and track down the Sommerswerd, a Sword of unimaginable power, said to be able to destroy entire armies… Sounds like a bit of a boast, but it turned out to be true. Having defeated the armies of the evil lord both on land and sea, rumours reached the city that Lord Vonotar, Zagarnas Magician, and traitor of Summerland has escaped. He was rumoured to have taken up power in the Northern ice caverns of the frozen Kingdom of Kalte, which turned out to be true. Despite falling down a massive crevice, Lancewolf tracked down Vonotar and brought him back to stand trial.

Now the King has got another dangerous quest for me. A convoy loaded with gold and gems has disappeared along with a patrol of 100 cavalry that was sent to investigate.

Lone Wolf became a mythical series and created a whole universe of its own, with enormous numbers of fans. A group of them launched Project Aon: a great initiative aiming at publishing all of the Lone Wolf book series online, with the authors and illustrators permission.
