Lone Sherman – Instructional Playthrough

Watch me quite literally get burned by my own game 🙁
At 19:50 I forget to conduct German Tank Operations for the second Panzer. Silly me.
At 38:00 I forget to conduct the Sherman Miscellaneous Ops Section, but I don’t think it would have saved me!
One thing I didn’t get to cover was if a ‘2’ is rolled on the ‘What Damage?’ chart, which is a KIA. It tells you at the bottom of that chart to roll a d6. On a 1 to 5, the relevant crew member is KIA (they are numbered at the bottom of the map). On a 6, your Commander is also KIA if he is in the Popped Hatch position. If the relevant crew member is already KIA, you have a lucky escape.

  1. Back off 2 weeks holiday in the early hours of the morning, for this to land today!! Literally just ordered, without watching the play through (yet)… So anticipated is this one for me, that I've also used my wife's account as she has Amazon Prime! 😂.. That's my Sunday sorted before back to work next week! Thanks Mike for the perfect end to a cracking holiday!! 💪 (Looking forward to watching this play through later with a proper cup of Yorkshire Tea.. Oh how I have missed thee)!! ☕🤣

  2. Still watching the video, but immediately ordered my first Mike Lambo book after reading comments that the game is ready to purchase. Looking forward to playing Lone Sherman. Thank you, Mike!

  3. Another well thought out game Mike. Haven't play these type of games for years. Already got your 'Hostage' game. Would be interesting to see an expansion to this 'Sherman' game. Perhaps adding the Tiger tank versus the Sherman Firefly to take it on? Cheers

  4. This looks great and I'm going to order this right now. As an amatuer war gamer I do have a newbie question. At 33:44 you chose to fire at the Panzer in front 2 spaces away instead of firing on the damaged Panzer 1 space away. I know it was off to the rear but is that Panzer still in line of site?

  5. A comment to 43:20 , from a tanker with 21 years of experience: yeah, you don't want to be on a road during any combat operations (if you can help it), but especially during any repair/refit operations 😂. So your abstraction limiting to 1 miscellaneous order die is spot on, as far as I'm concerned 👍

  6. Bought the game book, Love it. Having a blast with it. I scanned the maps in and enlarged them a bit more so I can use Memoir 44 Tank and infantry figs. (also helps my aging eyes). I am really enjoying the game mechanics and the scenarios. The Tiger is tough… BUT I was able to defeat it… (From behind!) Thanks for the Great Game Mike!

  7. Sir, your Hostage Rescue Squad video and this one just made you a couple of sales. I was skeptical at first, but the playthroughs showcased and the most excellently laid out procedures on the left hand side left me no choice but to become a fan.

  8. Thanks for this great video, Mike. Love Fields of Normandy and was planning to get the Battles of Normandy after that – but after watching this video, I think I'll first grab this one instead.

And love how your gameplays get you crushed by your own game – with Fields of Normandy it was the same, IIRC 😂

  9. Hey Mike, my daughter ordered Lone Sherman and Battles of the English Civil War for me recently and I reimbursed her for them. She is getting married in August and your games will be perfect for a long-distance train trip (probably in a sleeper). Hopefully I won't bug my wife too much with comments about the action! Your games are top-notch.
