—————————————————

The Against All Odds podcast is a true story of one man’s ride through the tainted world of horse racing – a world riddled with greed, corruption, celebrities, drugs, sex and the Mob.

Larry Rolla was a talented, respected trainer who invented new ways to fix aging and injured racehorses. Despite his success, his demons and his association with the Mob both helped and destroyed his life. He was involved with every phase of Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing, seen it all and done it all, learned how to duck and dive and live through it all. He is a unique man whose past most would not survive. More importantly, he was an extremely compassionate guy who took people with damaged lives and helped them as well, if he could. He liked fixing things that needed fixing.

  1. Why couldn't Rene get a job working horses away from the track?
You said you and the big-time trainers had big farms where you stabled many horses for their owners. Couldn't he work there for good money ?

  2. Was this the real Steve McQueen or one of the LaGayge look a-likes ? Anyone you get close to it seems bad luck is soon to follow not because you ripped off the betting public but some people just have that black cloud that looms over their illegal plans

  5. Too bad you could not help Gary from the Orlando show like you did Rene. Gary went without his last two paychecks, according to the Orlando Sentinel. No mention of Gary getting back pay or Rene cooperating on the internet. Too bad, well for Gary.

  6. I actually had forgotten all about Rene losing his license. Did not even realize he is still out of the business, though I got out in 1991. And you are 100% correct about baking soda and sugar. You simply cannot equate that with cheating in any way, shape, or form.
