Amazing pipe there Sparty!
My favourite tank, would be a range of tanks they developed called the 'funnies' tanks.
Sorry to spam so much, but you two have SUCH great energy, both towards the audience and towards eachother, it really is so fun to watch
Sorry missed this!!! I love the notion of Oktoberfest being a company picnic. You'll need to do some trust falls and other fun activities…
Re: favourite planes. I grew up in 1970's Britain, when the war was still fairly in the national psyche. And in the days before the internet and computer games, so you got by on comics. Many were war ones. As a result, my brother and I had heated arguments about whether the Spitfire of the Hurricane was better. I was for the former. Nobody ever talked about the Mosquito in these stories, or in those days. I am glad I got to discover it.
A movie worth a mention: sink the Bismarck. That moment when the admiralty room falls silent as they realise what has happened and that the ship is now a sitting duck. And the second in command whispers 'perhaps we've a chance now sir.' That blows me away.
Tv wise: Band of Brothers was heavily advertised when it came out. The pacific wasn't. I think that's why the former seems better remembered. But that scene in the Pacific part ten, when Lena meets her mother in law…I'm not crying, you're crying!
A few British shows that I grew up on have to be mentioned. Colditz. Classic sunday night tv. Secret Army. Classic escape line drama. And best world war two doc ever: the world at war. Which also has one of the greatest theme tunes ever.
Good Luck for Time Ghost Army Members & its Followers
Great channel. I love watching all of them.
We had the Red Bull Mosquito in our hangar at Kjeller were we usually fix F-16s. That plane is BIG!
Favorite Tank – Sherman Firefly – the practicality of the Sherman and the devastating power of the 17 Pr
Pity you don’t do personal bios, Rui Vrba lead a surreal life first as a Holocaust survivor then as a professor in Canada. Hope he gets a shout-out in Sparty’s WAH series at some point https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudolf_Vrba#Gerta_Sidonová
Each Swedish crown is a literal gold crown encrusted with diamonds. Even when there is no lockdown, the A19 north of Wittstock is pretty quiet, so I can believe that it was empty.
That amusement park sounds uber cool! I might come for the chook! (Only problem with Oktoberfest is there are too many Aussies – being an Aussie myself this is a problem because I don’t travel 16,000 km just to see Australians!).
Glad I was able to catch a bit of the livestream before going to bed last night. Good luck to all fellow TimeGhost Army members!
🙂
Screw your services if you’re a traitor who says “democracy is a weak system of govt, and by collaborating we are preserving the place of France in the largest empires of the world.”
@sparty: power naps are like jacking yourself up with all kinds of chemicals without any chemicals. you need like a third fewer hours of sleep long term and still work better than people who just sleep 9 hours a day.
P is for Perry (Matthew Calbraith Perry) – led the naval attack on Japan in 1853/1854. Effectively starting the Pacific war.
Or if that’s not enough, perhaps Lord Palmerston who started the Opium Wars… leading to several million opium addicts in China.
5-star General D’s those two.
I like Sparty's pipe. I would also like to know – What's in the Glass, a Chianti or Pinot Gris or Burgundy?
High speed endangering others is fun /s
It's my birthday (a big'un) soon and more than anything I wish I could join you in France for the intimate dinner. However I am between things and also need to renew my papers so sadly it won't happen.
AYYYYYYY this was posted on my birthday
What a joke. Indira Gandhi is the only Indian PM who officially suspended constitutional rights. She did this during the Emergency to rein in political opponents. If she can be invited to the Alpbach forum to discuss the future of democracy, who cant.
nothing has ever gone wrong in a beer hall in Munich
Surely Kentucky has the world's best chicken
The HMS Warspite, it may be argued, had a more illustrious history than either the U.S.S. Enterprise or the German Merchant Raider "Cormoran." Warspite fought in both World Wars I (incl. the Battle of Jutland) and II in the Battles of Narvik, Calabria, Taranto, Cape Matapan, Sicily, and the amphibious invasions of Italy and Normandy (shore bombardment), among other actions. Warspite was one of a handful of capital ships that served throughout both WWI & WWII.
It would be a great idea if, in addition to (or within the context of) what you've briefly discussed regarding future plans, you are also actively considering the idea of doing a follow-up series on THE COLD WAR.
I went to it in '69 as I was stationed in Bad Kreuznach. I took 6 days leave for it. It was better then NO leading u to lint. Carnival In BZ may be better but that is one party I have not made yet. Hope to some day if their gov gets its act together.
Your Swedish sounds like music. Or at least that's what YouTube auto-translates it to. 😀
