I was so excited when I first saw the EP announcement and I just became more and more disappointed with each release
For me 'Baddies' was giving 3rd Gen Vibes, it gives so much nostalgia, but the thing is, it doesn't seem to have something to hit right for the most of us; the music is good enough, but it does need to grow more unto us though…
About the choreography, it's underwhelming….
Why is calling yourself evil repeatedly and dancing around a witchcraft symbol trendy? Listening to the song makes me nervous, tbh.
I'm confused because in Off The Record Leeseo was praying in traditional dress but now in Baddie shes singing about how she is a menace next to a tetragram (not even a halloween tetragram, just a straight up satanic symbol).
Baddie is exactly the type of song that you are not allowed to dislike. Whenever a rhythmic song like this about girl power and being a rebel comes out, people are afraid to say they dislike it for some reason. In all kpop people jump on you for not liking it, but this concept in particular NO ONE dares say that the song is bad, even if it is objectively mediocre. Sorry, but Baddie is a bad song, nothing else to it.
Baddie honestly feels like they are trolling us 😭 all of their other songs (even the bsides) have a kinda majestic vibe and this one is very in your face I think without Either Way & Off The Record I would be disappointed in this album
What i appreciate about Either Way the most is how it addresses current issues pertaining IVE specifically. It's not exactly Taylor Swift levels of addressing real life events, some of the lyrics still seem like it has that kpop vagueness of it being applicable to anyone but there are lyrics that are specific to experiences of the members of IVE such as the introvert extrovert lyric and the lyric alluding to how Wonyoung is viewed by the public. I hope this starts like a trend of like kpop songs addressing public issues and group specific experiences in their songs, i know it's been done before but kpop still tends to have that "we may or may not have experienced this and you may or may not have experienced this" type of lyrics.

I feel like Baddie should hav not been the main Title Track, but a Pre-Release like Either way and OTR, and have a stronger Title Track that sounds a lot more like IVE
People talking about Holy Moly should be tt but I think after some listening that song will get boring, Baddie is really the opposite because how much you listen to this that much it will grow on you. People are just mad because they can't accept the change of concept. I think they don't hate the song but hate the concept I guess. Let IVE experiment with the new genre.

Baddie if I'm not mistaken is the most marketable song they have. Its what kpop stans like, something that is short, repetitive & is good for tiktok so I think that's why they chose baddie as the main title track since not a lot of kpop stans would like a longer song with more mellow rythm like Either way & Off the record (altho they're also a tt). Also, there's nothing wrong with changing their concept & experimenting on it, the problem is they didn't do it properly. The girls isn't fit for the girl crush concept except for their leader. The way the song was written, composed & produced was half ass & the choreography too (some parts are good)
If baddie was done by everglow, it would have passed under the radar. I like either way.
