  1. 31:42 I wonder if the consuls were supposed to be more fleshed-out, but they ran out of resources, or they couldn't figure it out how to put more character development for them in without screwing up the pacing? As you say, their designs are often pretty elaborate, yet most of them are wasted on one-note characters

    I was thinking about it, and I wonder if all of the animals/enemies you face are also being cloned back. U seems to imply that she created the situation at Tau, and if she had the ability to bring back monsters in certain areas, this would make a lot of sense (as would that one enemy in the compound in Agnus castle). This would also explain why enemies disappear into motes, and why they fill up the flame clock. The only problem is that (iirc) it was mentioned in the city plotline that no-one ever thought about the fact that animals reproduced naturally and people didn't, which seems to disprove the theory in general. I feel like all this points to the idea that consuls have the ability to, but just haven't felt the need to (barring in the compound or near Tau), clone back dead enemies.
