Oh Awesome! I picked this up when you did your review and I was wondering when you'd get around to it.
The random command dice gives a nice fog-of-war effect to the game.
I'm looking forward to game 2.
Awe man I love this game. I got my fleet from Brigade miniatures also, the Neo-Soviets line is awesome. Space carriers π
Would the scale fit the old battlefleet gothic miniatures? I remember them being bigger than but that could just be my memory playing tricks
This game looks awesome!
Great game guys. super exciting to see it played out on the table, and I'm so stoked to see the campaign!
A couple of little rules things for your next game:
– you can have multiples of the same weapon on a ship (so your galleon can actually have 3 launch bays if it wants), you just can't have two identical capital ships in your fleet.
– victory points add the total value of the ships you destroy. So it's not just the objectives. You're actually earning points for blowing stuff up in real time.
– escorts don't get the crazy 360 turning… but they can stack their flak, which makes them more survivable.
– measuring isn't post to post, so there could have been more self destructing disciples π
Yes! So happy to see you get to this game.
Been waiting on this. You were the only reason I bought it, so thank you Ash.
Good stuff. Looking forward to more.
Anyone that know if this game took any inspiration from Fleet Commander: Genesis? I never got around to play it, but the rolling of the dice for abilities and the number of hit points the ships have remind me of what I remember of the rules. π
It has to be said though that Fleet Commander is played on a 7×7? grid, and the rules are so abstract that you could substitute any other setting onto it. But it is a French game, so I think that the chance it would get to Canada is a little higher then the USA.
How do the size of the ships compare to what you got with Star Wars Armada?
There is an updated rule book as well, if you get the pdf, it is version 1.11 I believe. Some of the rules have changed.
dropfleet commander has a bunch of ships that can be used with this π€
Just got this book because of you videos. With Firestorm Armada mothballed this is hitting all the right notes for my spaceship needs.
Great game as others book the book from Amazon because of your review…looking forward to the next game…only thing, ships dont really turn much, more starwars then startrek…just seems if you do pass by yout never going to turn back again…just heard PDF update….but I only got the book ?
Is the sister ship to the Destiny's Child the En Vogue?
What a time to be alive, 20 year old metals more detailed than 3d prints π
Very fun video to watch. I'd love to see a discussion video going over the various space ship games and comparing them so people can make an informed decision on what ruleset(s) to buy.
Hey Ash, where did you get the models you are using? I know you said Brigade Miniatures, but do you know what "line" those are from?
Oh this looks really fun.
As a very big BFG player, I really like this. Thanks for bringing this out to the channel so I know to buy it.
