While addressing a gathering in Pune, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan on February 3 shed light on relevance of Ancient Indian wisdom in today’s world and war. “Ancient Indian wisdom still relevant… The ancient Indians drive their strength from 5000 years old heritage…The manner lord Ram had every right to go to war with his army demonstrated ethical conduct…The methods employed by Lord Rama and Krishna were war termination and consolidation…Declared kind of wars that do not exist anymore like World War 1, 2 but conflict exists… some ancient concepts and principles will remain timeless,” said General Anil Chauhan

  3. for teachings of ramayan and mahabharat to apply you need to have adversaries like raavan shishupal and kauravas but modern day enemies of india are zombies remember captain saurabh kalia its good to know your culture and values but those morals and conduct of war are not relevant in modern era if those code of conduct didn t work 800 yearss ago then how will it work now the only thing matters is victory for military nothing else

  4. That's fine. But if the General focuses on the numerous wars Indian kings lost in the last 1000 years he would quickly realize that we were technically disadvantaged compared to the invader s. If the Armed forces have learnt any lesson particularly the Army and Air force, they would concentrate on indigenous technology development than being import pasand buying weapons as some kids in a toy shop.
