If asked, “What central theme runs through all the Bible?” how would you respond? Jesus? The plan of salvation? The cross? Yes to all three, of course! But these three important topics unfold against an even more all-encompassing theme: the great controversy. This theme pervades the Bible, from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation.
The great controversy began in heaven with Lucifer’s rebellion against God. At the heart of this cosmic conflict is the issue of God’s love. Is He fully loving? Does He have the best interests of His creatures in view? Or is He an authoritative dictator desiring only what is in His own self-interest?
This quarter’s lessons trace world history from God’s viewpoint, as prophecy reveals it, from the time of Christ down through the centuries to our day and beyond. God’s very nature is love, and therefore, all His acts are loving, though this fact may not always be evident to finite human beings or even angels. But God’s love is progressively revealed as the great controversy unfolds. We see its height and depth most clearly through the Cross. At Calvary, God’s love was displayed before the entire universe when Christ poured out His life to redeem humanity, and Satan’s ultimate defeat was assured.🌏

UNCLE MELVIN😅
😊
The Bible needs to be shared with those who have no access to it. Eg. The millions in Africa, India, Asia, for example. There are ministries who distribute Bibles in the native language of the people. Find one and support it.
The Book of the Law was lost in the Temple back in King Josiah's day. It was chained to the pulpit in the University Church in Luther's day. So today the Bible though abundant in many churches in the Western World is locked up in deceptions and false interpretations. We must help people to discover Bible truths to live by..
Amen
Indeed the word of God is my reason for living 🙏
Amen ❤❤❤
Lost in the Temple/Church! The Holy Word of God was found in the Temple buried under a pile of rubbish. Good King Josiah restored the Word to Israel and there was a temporary reformation. See 2Kings 22
Between about AD 538 and 1798, the Bible was lost to the countries of Europe. Because it was written in Latin and very few people could read Latin they would have to depend on what the priest said for Bible information. Additionally Church rules forbade anyone who was not a priest to interpret Scripture. The severest of punishment including being killed was the consequence of breaking that rule. This was a dark time and is known in history as the Dark Ages. The Roman Catholic (Universal) Church was the main Church and because it was yoked up with the State and had the Pope at its head, it had authority to enforce the Pope's laws) through the State.
But it was time to act. God wanted His people F R E E. He raised up Reformers to contend for the Faith; to teach the truth to the people and to give them the Bible in their own language that they could read for themselves. What a G O O D God we serve! Let us hide His Word in our heart so that we may not sin against Him but please Him.
Know the truth. Love the truth. Live the truth. Share the Truth. Stand by the truth as the Reformers did. And ye shall know the truth and the Truth shall make you free. John 8:32
Thank you so much for this class. My only wish is that the Great Controversy should have been studied not only for this quarter, but for the whole year. Too much fruit left on the vine this quarter. Of course not your fault. We should pray for the brethren. God Bless You from NC.
The history of the Reformation reminds us that the edifices of the Roman church was actually erected by the BLOOD OF THE MARTYRS.
Today's study was a blessing. We love it when Bro. Melvin facilitates. And Deanna is always a delight. Pr Gouveia is one of our favorites, so we really enjoyed the Sabbath school! Thx, y'all. Praise our Great God!!!!!!!
Thank you, this is very thoughtful!
