what does the frog reference mean?
I personally think the female unnamed elf resembles Tauriel from the hobbit.
This is definitely a five star set, no question. Excellent video!
It's disappointing that they did a new mold for the hilt of Narsil, but didn't do one for the reforged version, Anduril.
03:49: One does not simply lift it into Mordor!
Let’s take a sec to appreciate Jang’s vocabulary in just the first 60s of this review. It’s such a joy to hear a reviewer who is so thoughtful about their word choice 🎉
I'm still upset Lego decided to only sell one, possibly 2 sets for LOTR, and not given your regular joe a chance to buy a cheaper set. I will struggle to afford the new UCS X-Wing, but £430?! I can't afford that. It's sad, cos this is amazing. Great review as always though, Jang
I am not sure what the boat picture depicts, but I am assuming the image of the city 13:21 is that of the elven kingdom of Gondolin, which was sunk after the First Age!
Wow for the set. Wow for the review. Long time viewer, but first time commenter here. Outstanding job!
Jang, would it be possible for you to give us the measures of each separate module? That's what holds me back from buying it and I just cannot find this information anywhere. Would really appreciate it.
Wow, you can tell Elrond is not a book person with such a small bookshelf!
You know, I would've loved to have this set split into a collection of Rivendell places and rooms you can put together. The price is so high. I'd like to just purchase Bilbo's room. Some woud like the council.
🐨
this set is the ultimate collectors set!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly. This is probably one of the best lego sets ever made along with the millennium falcon and hogwarts. It is just so right. It captures lord of the rings perfectly. I'm sure the designers of this set are very proud
“One does simply lift it from the tree…” Jang, you wonderful wonderful man you.
This was an excellent review! I love how you don’t have a script and how natural your videos flow, thank you for the amazing reviews and keep up the spectacular work
I got to work as a background actor on a movie with sean astin aka samwise hobbit today, tho i didnt get a picture or likely be seen on film much if at all, i went ahead and bought it to commerate the occasion
At first I thought that this was quite pricey, but then I compared it to other highly-priced Lego sets out there currently on the market. It's $800 here, but with almost exactly the same piece count as the UCS Razor Crest, it's $100 LESS THAN that. The UCS AT-AT has only about 700 pieces more, but is $400 more than this set, and it has mostly repeated figures in it. I'm not sure if I'll get it – but at the same time I've considered both of the other two sets which don't even compare favourably to this one. For me these days – it comes down to shelf-space rather than affordability.
Amazing in-depth review! I really love that you can hear Jang's passion and enthusiasm for lego shine through. Puts a smile on my face!
Cannot begin to fathom the amount of creativity that went into the pieces used in this set. I didn't care going in, just wanted to watch out of curiosity. You sold this for me.
Well, Jang: thanks for that. I’m not in the market for the build, but I’ve waited 2-3 weeks for this review. I know you built it in twitch (too busy and not my thing), and I was rewarded with a terrific review of a build I’ll never buy. That’s how good your reviews are. Kudos sir! Thanks for being you! All the best!
Dude. Your video editing ability and presentation is one of the best I’ve seen from any YouTuber. Definitely the best Lego YouTuber.
Sigh… Jang review make me happy! Enjoy rewatching the movies, Jang!
They made new hair, beard, and helmet molds for the elves, and gimli, because they don't have the old mold casts
I'm currently building this set as I watch your review. I'm in the middle of the forging & gazebo part of the build. I did the tower section already. I COMPLETELY agree with you that this is in a top 5 set of all time category. I am loving the building experience and the results are breathtaking.
Are all the decals printed or are some of the decals stickers?
if I could only buy 1 lego set in my life this will be it.
