LEGO City Train Track, Boardwalk, Road & Plans!

In this LEGO city update, I continue working on the roads, train tracks, and boardwalk. That includes the construction of over 33 MILS Plates! To build all those I had to order a ton of pieces… and I ran out of other pieces LOL. Slowly but surely we are getting there and I cannot wait to get the base construction of the LEGO city done!

  1. Should you move the train track behind the zoo? Move the road in front of the zoo where the train track is running now to align with the other road have a little car park in front of the zoo and make the train track run behind the zoo? Therefore the road would be consistent and there would not be a train track between the beach and the zoo where there would be (in real life) huge pedestrian crossing and traffic anyway?

  5. Greetings from Australia…an idea might be to remove the fire station and university from the waterfront and put in another hotel or restaurant. Waterfront areas are usually tourist, holiday and entertainment areas. Also, as suggested in other comments from other videos, move the university to its own area where you can add more buildings a park area and a sports field.

  6. Have you considered giving some elevation near the boardwalk? I know that it doesn’t have to be realistic but the water, tracks and street are all on the same level

  7. I'm sorry, I just don't get the Boardwalk being on the other side of the train track. Also a Boardwalk should have little shops and Kiosks along it. Maybe you are planning to add those though.

  8. Really exciting to see all the track and boardwalk get placed down. You may have looked at it already for the rail yard, model railway layouts can help with giving you some ideas.

For the base plate alignment on the edge, have you considered creating a brick guide that overhangs the MILs plates and sits off the edge of the table? This would allow you to push the MILs tight against the table top and then can square it off. Could do it on the corners as well to get that alignment as close as possible.

  9. Are you using technic pins to attach MILS plates to each other? Everytime I see you moving baseplates around it seems like they are just "soft fit" with each other. It seems like that would help with alignment but a pain when wanting to get a baseplate out or rearange the city.

  10. Idea for your boardwalk. Take off the railing against the grass and build steps up or have the grass slope up. Then you can use the arches along more of the front and have a nice open area to transition onto the grass.

  11. would be nice to see a nice train staging station. and use different track radius and nice crossovers on some parts on the layout. they also have very nice automated crossover lights that work with automated boom barriers and train detectors. and when using different track radius , it would give you much more options and make tighter/wider turns, and the 2or more tracks can be next to each other. nice sound and lights on the trains would also be very nice (oke, it will cost a bit…….) trixbrix / fxbricks / 4Dbrix . your new place looks great, i enjoy your content. greetings from the netherlands.

  12. Hi Bricksie just an idea where the track goes down the right hand side and it gets to the bricklink station ( sorry forgotten it’s name) do a left into the station on the left then it can go straight on though the mountain or turn right and go through the mountain and come out where the winter village is and join the rest of the track
In the bricklink station on the right side the hogwarts express could go round in a loop though the amusement park into a station then under the mountain back to the station and if you set it up to stop in the mountain till the other train comes back round to the station and if you set it up right you could get the polar express to run on the loop so they are both in a station at the same time I think that would look good

  13. The roads are really looking awesome now. So much more consistency achieved than you had when you were just getting the city on the tables. Yes, it's a process. But so is a real city. Nothing is ever "complete"… and the sidewalk at the bend of the railroad track has all kinds of possibilities. But I'm typing this as you go through your stack of new MILS road plates, so there's still lots of progress to see. Hopefully you get restocked on the 2×4 dark gray tiles and light gray inverted slopes soon. 🙂

  14. The road alignment near the bend in the train track and the access hole (see around 20:10 and other times) should be an easy fix; it looks like the plan is for a pair of "T" intersections, one going each way. I hope Josee is feeling better soon.

  15. you should get your purple bricksie logo painted on one of your walls like upstairs or on the wall in the stairway. also when doing your mountains i think It would be cool if you added a volcano to make the mountains a little more interesting.
