LAX/Metro Transit Center Station CONRAC Construction Update May 2023

LAX/Metro Transit Center Station will be located near Aviation Blvd. and 96th st. which will intersect with the LAX automated people mover line. Just a short distance from the K Line Century/Aviation Station.

The goal of this new LAX/Metro Transit Station is to provide a reliable, fast, and convenient connection for passengers traveling between LAX and the regional bus and rail transit system. By integrating with existing and future transit connections and airport facilities, Metro hopes to increase public transit trips to and from LAX with minimal impact to airport facilities and surrounding communities and to help reduce air pollution. Core features planned for the new multi-modal AMC include the following:

A new large capacity light rail station as part of the Crenshaw/LAX Line and the C Line
An extensive Bus Plaza and terminal facility for Metro and municipal bus operators
Active Transportation hub with secured bicycle parking
A new Metro Customer Center
Pedestrian plaza with passenger pick-up and drop-off area
Direct connection to the future LAX Automated People Mover (APM)

  1. When all the rental car companies move to the new facility they should make all the storage companies along the expo line move their facilities into those vacated parcels. It’s ridiculous how much potential living space is used up near metro stations by these building just housing people’s junk.

  2. Love the new train but this project is the worst ever. They spent decades slow motion demolishing a nice neighborhood to build a massive glorified parking garage. The whole area looks so unbelievably awful now and all to make it more convenient for tourists to get rental cars smh

  3. Work, work, work. A great addition to the airport, along with all the other construction going on. Of course, the Los Angeles / California haters will continue to say LAX is the worst airport in the world and the world's largest homeless shelter. They'll also say SFO is also the worst airport in the world and the world's largest homeless shelter. The trolls are a broken record on YouTube. It's easy to predict what they post.

  4. That Arco station hit the jackpot, huh? About to be right next door to like the largest rental car center in the country, so literally the entire world will be topping off their rentals their before returning.

  5. They said they will let trains through in 2023 and the station should be finished by 2024.
Considering we are halfway through and they barley have the concrete outline well I have an announcement.
Guys we gonna wait like another 5 years for this lol

  6. The progress looks great; it’s amazing to me that all of this construction is available with minimal disruption to travel. I’m glad people are documenting the progress.

I hope it will be easy to travel quickly from the nether regions of the light rail system to LAX. For example, I wonder how long a trip from, say, Pasadena to LAX through Union station will take. Will they have a few express trains an hour from a main hub line Union Station to LAX? A trip that’s around 45 minutes to an hour is good, but if you’re in, say, Azusa or Rancho Cucamonga and have to spend two hours each way, it’s not going to be appealing.
