The Against All Odds podcast is a true story of one man’s ride through the tainted world of horse racing – a world riddled with greed, corruption, celebrities, drugs, sex and the Mob.

Larry Rolla was a talented, respected trainer who invented new ways to fix aging and injured racehorses. Despite his success, his demons and his association with the Mob both helped and destroyed his life. He was involved with every phase of Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing, seen it all and done it all, learned how to duck and dive and live through it all. He is a unique man whose past most would not survive. More importantly, he was an extremely compassionate guy who took people with damaged lives and helped them as well, if he could. He liked fixing things that needed fixing.

  1. You protected people who couldn't care less about you. They laughed about you if a boss can rat his whole crew out and keep all his money and live to 80 yrs old that's self-explanatory. It's a ponzi scheme congress calls it trickle down theory drop by drop 😂

  2. Robert "Cabert" Bisaccia, how are you lying? If they don't know, then they just don't know Larry. Great show! Look forward to reading your book and an eventual big screen picture or series.

  3. Sounds like our guy is having conflicting second thoughts because he wouldn't give up a couple of tack-room bums? these guys weren't part of any mob family so no repercussions there. He said it previously that he should have paid them off and they would have been suspended for a year by the racing commission and they would have been broke again in 2 weeks.

I can so hear his anger and frustration with this. Larry, you can't go back! MOVE ON.
Another thing you said that hit home with me was that like you, a couple times in my 20 yrs in the game I was broke and slept in a tack room and it was god awful, let me tell you. Once in awhile I'd get lucky and pick up a cocktail waitress and sleep in her warm bed but that didn't last long after they realized I was dead broke, lol
If you live in the past, all that does is fuck the future. Move on bro.

  4. Friendly advice, Larry (& you can take it or leave it, I'll still be on your side). Staxx is a no-talent dirtbag with no audience & zero integrity. The guy will lie & will turn on anyone if he thinks he can pickup a few views. Don't have to believe me, it's all documented on YT.

  5. Cullotta was a stand up guy in the streets. One thing though, pretty sure he never was made, never took an oath. Chicago only had 50 or so "made" guys, even during their heyday. THAT'S WHY NO ONE EVER TALKED for the longest time & the "outfit" hit well above it's weight – one boss, one family.
