  1. My uncle Forest Woods, was with the US Army's 58th Division. He was wounded in the fall of 1918 in the Meuse Offense, wounded in his upper right arm, and Left leg by likely a German machine gun. He miraculously survived infection, transport, and the ":Spanish" Influenza. After what he experienced, he was a quiet, thoughtful, at times serene individual with a sense of humor. I recall seeing his wound on his upper right arm. He died in Portland Oregon in the late 1960's. God bless them all
