  1. EDM Kelly Rowland has always been a whole vibe. Being a fan and truly listening to her broad and eclectic discography takes you on an absolute ride. For those that haven't heard what she has to offer across multiple genres including EDM/House, should check it out. Without comparisons, without being judgmental, just have an open mind and listen; her EDM catalog puts you in a good mood.

  2. Yall always wanna say colorism but the fact is nobody was really into dance pop at the time…ask Kelis, her 'Acapella' song didn't do well in the US and she was light-skinneded. Euro Dance Pop didn't get popping until Rihanna did 'Only Girl in the World'…she made it a thing here in the US.

  3. I want her to do the Donna Summer bio pic so bad BUT AND HOWEVER I DO NOT want to hear her singing or “remaking” any of Donnas songs I want her to just lip sync AND THEN AFTER Kelly should release a NEW album with dance music to put her in a new category where she can really shine

  4. To this date, I have never seen a Youtube Channel tackle a Kelly Rowland story so intricately detailed, researched backed, and NOT based in the idol worship of Beyonce. Bravo! and Thank you! I often wonder if something traumatic happened to her during her "forgotten dance era". Maybe her abusive relationship was precisely during this time even though it feels like It might have happened when she was much younger. I only say this because she's said at one point dance music was a "beautiful mistake". The collaboration with Amorphous and Crazy are the closest she's returned to the sound. It's unfortunate because a lot of critics agree that she really shines as a dance diva. Now that Beyonce has released pure dance/house music, the comparisons will surely persist if she picks up the dance sound again.

  5. She is criminally underrated as her own solo artist and her Euro Pop and Dance era was her lane and her art and I enjoyed it so much.

She was very successful overseas and it made no sense that she was only moderately successful in America because she totally deserved the opportunity

I believe it has to do with her being Dark Skinned which is absurd and stupid. Talent has nothing to do with skin tone

  6. My goodness… I've really noticed how much she really does look like Donna Summer! She really needs to play her in a cinematic biopic and series! She has the pipes too! She would absolutely merk that! Someone make this happen!

  7. ..Oh, thank You, THANK you, THANK YOU!! …I've long stated that Kelly was the 'Commander' of crossing EDM into Pop Music, and this post SOLIDIFIES it! …I was a DJ (then), and saw Kelly's work getting MORE Club play than Beyonce's "4" material! (CONT.)

…but, since Pop culture was shifting, People like Danni Minogue, Tings, Tings, Natasha Bedingfield, etc. were getting the acolades more; I DO think colorism may have been involved, but Kelly has become MUCH more respected later on, for her Solo material…

…and, by the by, I am a 61 Year Old G-y Man, and I see NO OTHER HUMAN playing Donna Summer anywhere, than Kelly! …that role, is HERS!!

  8. This was good! I didn't know this about Kelly Rowland career! I consider it blessing that so many black women get the acknowledgment and success they deserve overseas than in the US. Ex: La Baker (Josephine Baker), Grace Jones in modeling and music, Kelis and Maysa. Chaka Khan and Donna Summer worked and lived abroad reaching success ( I think Germany, learning and speaking German fluently). It would not surprise me if she takes that leap and lives in Frances or the UK! What a powerful statement she said "I had to reprogram myself in Europe"!

She is a class act! Wishing her more success and praying she stars as Donna Summer in a 🎬 movie!

  9. Wow so Kelly really helped shape the sound for the early 2010’s and by bringing David Guetta to our attention. Crazy how underrated she is here in the US because of colorism. She’s SO talented & beautiful inside and out. 🤎🤎🤎
