For years I felt like I was drowning in darkness…
Walking in the spirit keeps your head over the waters.
Keep you head above the waters so you can see the beauty of life and see things for what they truly are (with spiritual eyes).
Be intentional about seeking Him and He will deliver you from the overwhelming darkness that wants to drown you. Seek to do good and deny your fleshly desires so that you can have peace and joy.
Avoid the traps of the enemy (temptation) and God will keep your head up high. Otherwise, shame and guilt will pull you under the waters and your mind and soul will be troubled by the terror of not being able to breathe.
If you feel like you are barely surviving, use your last breath to ask Him for help and He will deliver you from the trap of the one who hates you and wants to see you gone.

[4] I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. [5] Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
