  1. It's cool that these traditional style of roguelikes are still being made. They're a very rare breed ever since roguelite games becoming so popular.

  2. Its a very fun easy to get into, hard to master. Been sinking many hours into this, and the game continues to be amazing.

The fact that melee is just as viable for anyone as guns. Where a scout will be a ninja, the marine a furious juggernaut, while the technicians ends with a monoblade capable destroyer of worlds. They play the same and different in a super viable way.

  3. The game looks good, but I hope the dev does a pass on the gunplay.

As it is you get a few blocks representing bullets that travel in a straight line. It works, but it would be nice to have some more aggressive muzzle flash (I see they have dynamic lighting with the flashlights, so use that, too) and a bit of dynamism in the fire animations (like muzzle flip). I get seeing the projectiles, but honestly I'd rather not, but each projectile should result in a hit blot on an enemy or a ricochet or pock on a wall with a spark. For the grenade, go nuts with a big light source on the hit and maybe put a 40% smoke effect on the area briefly (dissipate at end of round).

The gunplay isn't bad, it's just a bit stiff.

  4. I miss that old DoomRL that had the sound effects and music.. Such a great coffee break RL and probably the best 7-day RL I've ever played (the origin, together with AliensRL, for Jupiter Hell).
