“Journey of the Seasons” is a collection of landscapes created during the autumn of 2022, using Media Molecule’s software suite “Dreams” on my PlayStation 5. All environments & assets were sculpted entirely from scratch by me. The sound effects used are stock sound effects that came with the original copy of Dreams. I made the music using Dreams’ music creation tools.
The project was an attempt to explore different kinds of landscapes while also exploring the uses of the – then brand-new – “sticker texture” feature in Dreams. The very first landscape, “Mountainside Vista” was also very much inspired by seeing fellow Dreams creator @SakkusMindlive at work during the Summer of 2022. And it should also become fairly obvious that the visual style of games like thatgamecompany’s “Journey” served as another big influence on the project
Having created the landscapes, I also wrote up some flavour text to tie them all together, turning this into a bit of a spin-off to my ongoing game project “CITADEL”.
