  1. Move has certainly got you going again. Love the windcutter. Branch fiddle. Ummm, I think it will need to be in a cutting to give a barrier us you lean to main fiddle yard. How about making it end to end, to give more operational realism as a heritage line.

  2. Hi mate I'm interested in getting into the hobby I've some old hornby stuff from late 70 early 80s from my childhood but I want the dcc stuff but I find the locos very expensive what are the best locos to get started in the hobby that don't cost 300 quid

  4. If you're cold that's a big space to heat, so my advice is first layer up – get some thermals, etc. If you're still cold, especially if you're sitting around, I recommend investing in a sleeping bag suit, they'll keep you really toasty warm.

They're about ยฃ100 which might sound a lot, but in the 3 years I've had mine I reckon it's saved me about ยฃ3k in heating bills๐Ÿ˜ฎ. They're also super sexy – providing you have a thing for the Michelin Man๐Ÿ˜€

  5. Looking great. I would've just stored the boxes for the stock in boxes on the floor, as I have with Ashbrooke Central at my parents' house, and as I have in my garage. And I'd use that lower shelf for stock not on the fiddle yard (but I do have an awful lot of stock, currently all stored in my bedroom).
Can't wait to see trains running round and round here. I'd also love to offer help in building, but I'm over 100 miles away, so…

  6. Looks a lot better in a proper industrial unit. On the fiddle yard boards why not have the heritage line come off the scenic board underneath as it is onto a helix at each end to then run along underneath the upper level fiddle yard and then back up again at the other end. I.e fit two helixes either end before the main fiddle yard boards. Have the main line above bypassing the lower helix entry and exits.

  7. Love the new room! Random production thought here โ€” invest in a rug/mat for the floor โ€” I know it's going to get dirty โ€” but the sound echo in the new space distracts me. Once you get more things in the room, that will help. Just a technical/viewer input suggestion, so take it with a grain of salt! ๐Ÿ˜€

  8. Greta update! The 2mt sounds fantastic, is it an HM7000 or better?

Out of interest, how will these fiddle yard board work if you ever take it to an exhibition? They look quite permanent especially being split level.
