  1. Prof. Mearsheimer – whose insights on other issues I value highly – nas no understanding whatsoever of the conflict in the Middle East. Generally viewing himself as a structuralist, in other cases he thinks of states as "black boxes". In this case however he does not and inserts all manner of internal domestic and cultural / civilizational issues into his argumentation. Unfortunately, unlike Huntington, whom he respects but whose theories he rejects, Prof. Mearsheimer – probably due to the fact that he is a monolingual, monocultural, monocivilizational Anglophone who has spent most of his life in Chicago and thus surrounded by only one civilization – is completely unable to comprehend what civilizations are and how they interact – or fail in their interactions. The sad fact is that the conflict in the Middle East simply cannot be solved. The so-called two-state solution is a naive fantasy invented by people who live in the dream world of purported, but of course non-existent, "universal values". Were it to be implemented, what we just saw would only repeat itself… but most certainly on a much, much larger scale. Not unlike what we saw several decades ago.

  2. 0:45: 😔 The Israeli military campaign in Gaza and the Ukraine crisis may derail the US pivot to Asia to contain China.
6:25: 🇺🇸 President Biden warns Israeli leadership to learn from the US after 9/11, but it may not have much effect on their behavior.
12:52: 🤔 The conventional wisdom that the Palestinians rejected a 93% or 94% offer at the Camp David Peace Accords is not accurate, as there was never a final agreement or plan put forward that Arafat rejected.
18:26: 🔥 Chiron, a decorated soldier and right-wing political figure in Israel, chose to withdraw Israeli settlers from Gaza in 2005, turning it into an open-air prison.
25:24: 📰 The Ukrainian counteroffensive against the Russian invasion is petering out and they have failed to make any gains on the ground.
30:24: 🔑 NATO expansion and EU expansion provoked Russia, contrary to popular belief.
36:57: 💡 The United States is deeply involved in Ukraine and Gaza, which detracts from its ability to concentrate on containing China.
42:12: 🇨🇳🇦🇺 China is attempting to rectify its failed 'wolf warrior diplomacy' with Australia through economic cooperation while maintaining intense security competition.
48:10: 🌏 The video discusses the transition from a unipolar world to a multi-polar world, with increasing economic intercourse and security competition between China and Australia.

  3. It is so sickening to hear about authoritarian governments like China when the USA has supported and installed dozens of dictators all over the world and removed democratylly elected government Chile, Guatemala, Brazil, Nicaragua Iran, Congo Granada, Paraguay, Bolivia, Iraq,Afghanistanetc

  4. In 1934, the Jewish Autonomous Oblast was formed in the Russian Far East to show that, like other national groups in the Soviet Union, Russian Jews could receive a territory in which to pursue cultural autonomy in a socialist framework. The JAO's capital city was in Birobidzhan, and Yiddish was its official language.

  5. Silver Lining – The Pivot to Asia, conceived by Anthony Blinken, was a failed initiative of the Obama Administration, and second try by Biden Administration, doubled-down in an even more ill-conceived but more energetic way, and will ultimately be a bigger failure. The USA needs to adjust to, and leverage, the reality of a multi-polar world where China is a peer, and rely on diplomacy not impotent coercion. But can the USA adjust? Under a die-hard believer in American Exceptionalism such as Biden, not likely. In that context, the diestration of the Western Asia conflict may have on positive outcome. Moment of reckoning & reflection? That would be a good outcome.

OK, public response: CIS also promotes propaganda based on fabrication not fact, which is counter-productive to the stated goals and raises reasonable doubts about credibility and intentions. Thanks!

  7. A fallacy here is that security is only ensured by militarism (the modus operandi of the USA). China is taking a manifold approach with more focus on building influence and common interest vis a vis BNR, etc. There are speed bumps in the road, but of late, the USA, EU, Australia & India have had a rude awakening China is making gains, and their belated response is a Keystone Kops joke so far (American HSR project across a small Pacific island? Seriously?).

  8. There are no good guys wielding power in the world. As Billy Joel put it, we didn't start the fire. Many chickens are coming home to roost, from 1945, 1918, 1789, etc. What's most shameful about the United States is that it continues to regard itself as the defender of the liberal-bourgeois revolutions of the eighteenth century, but has become a monstrous superpower that the puritans and federalists and even Napoleon could never have imagined. America has become the Whore of Babylon aka the Roman Empire, but it continues to feed its own citizens propaganda about democracy and human rights and so forth. Why should I as an American citizen cheer on the US military-industrial complex and G7 military regime? Do they manufacture rockets in Gaza? Does Putin run the global financial system? Did China run opium into America and sail in on gunboats? To quote the playwright Tennessee Williams, mendacity, mendacity, all around us is nothing but mendacity.

  9. Why are you do so obsessed in containing China and pivoting to Asia? World hotspots is in the West, in Ukraine and Middle East, that's where attention is needed, not East Asia! Stop unrest and conflict there to bring peace in that region instead of creating tension and crisis in East Asia!

  10. The whole American empire has been shown to be rotten to its core – hypocritical, double standard, supportive of genocidal allies/cronies and war criminals, failing on all fronts – and idiots like Mearsheimer still speaking of, lusting after a pivot to Asia, i.e. China!!?

  12. To contain China! WTF? We are all human being, and we are all equal and who give the western power the right to contain another country. Let's contain Australia, or let's contain the US or let's contain the UK, how does that feel just by saying it? The world is heading to WW3 because this type of ideas we have, it is so stupid to begin with. We are in one camp, and if they don't do what we told them to or follow our rules so they must be put down. Why are we treating others like animals? Ukraine have the right to take back their lands from Russia, but China can't. Israel have the right to cutoff water, power, and gas access to Palestinians, but not Russia to Ukraine. Basically, if they are our allies then its ok for them to do anything they want, if not they must be contained or put down? There is lot to reflect, does Mearsheimer ever reflect on these? It is so criminal just by having the idea to contain another country.
