IWD23 – Womxn Up – Sam

Sam reveals her fascinating journey from training as teacher to becoming a radio DJ and now managing local charity Find A Voice.

To celebrate International Women’s Day 2023 we are showcasing 5 amazing women of the Ashford town centre community. These incredible entrepreneurs have gone on camera to share their inspirational stories and reveal what it takes to become a successful and thriving businesswoman.

By highlighting their achievements and contributions to the community the aim is to increase their visibility and encourage more women to peruse careers in business and entrepreneurship. By promoting gender equality, the project aspires to empower women to take risks and pursue their dreams.

The film series features:

Becca Green – Founder and manager of The Beehive, a second-hand women’s clothing boutique and community cafe in Ashford’s town centre.

Samantha Griffin – Operations and Fundraising Manager at local charity Find A Voice, supporting people with severe comminution difficulties.

Debz Eastlake – Owner of Pancake Cat, making pet beds, puppy carriers and dog toys for pet shop Not for Humans in Folkestone as well as creating bespoke purses and pencil cases to sell at Made In Ashford and running workshops in the Craftship.

Lucy Stoate – Operations Manager of Coachworks Ashford, a thriving co-working space featuring authentic food outlets and bars and music venue.

Casey Brett – Owner of B_Art_Co, providing art clubs, socials and workshops both online and in situ.

The films are produced by Square Stone Media, a new creative collaboration between local filmmakers Richard Grebby (RG Studios) and Dominic Rees-Roberts (Borderpoint Films).
