Sorry about the video lag in this recap, I’ve had so many tech problems during this tournament and I could’ve re-recorded this upon coming home but the analysis/vibe wouldn’t have been the same as recording it right after the game had ended. Sending my streaming laptop to the doctor and I’ll see you guys back on my proper setup in the next video!
PS for those of you who complained about my travel microphone, I ordered a new one, so for my next recaps you’ll have higher quality audio 🙂 now I just need you guys to watch the videos… so that I can get monetised… so that I can afford stuff like this LOL.
I analysed this game myself but with the help of the Chess.com game analysis tool. You can upgrade using my affiliate link* to use Chess.com game review: https://www.chess.com/membership?ref_id=101229188

Its not over!!!
You played some great games this tournament! 🎉🎉🎉Get some well deserved rest😊
Don't beat yourself up too much about it. That …g5 resource was completely counterintuitive giving up your kingside pawn structure (and pawns). You did well this tournament and there always comes a time where you start to reevaluate your opening choices after a couple of sad losses, we've all been there.
Not a twitch guy, so if you want me to see you…. lol – YouTube. This the 2nd time you dropped a video while I was watching the previous one -that’s fun. Yt vids? Bring a camera when you’re crying at the zoo? 😂 IDK. Keep posting, and I’ll watch. I like interesting chess ppl. It’s sports entertainment.
Not sure how it could be possible, so probably isn't, but I would still contact a certain WC and request the procedure lol
bad french endgame…
That's so bizarre, but kids are weird like that. If they know something, they know it perfectly. If they don't, they're a giant crevasse with no bottom. Lulla apparently found his knowledge. She's also learning how all the top engines have destroyed the French Defense. Time to go back to the drawing board to figure out the French or how to avoid the worst parts of this stuff. Thank you for all the recaps.
Don’t limit yourself to what people want to see.. do what you want and your true audience will like it. The most important thing is to be authentic and true to yourself.. winning or losing, on or off the board.. and in every aspect of your life. For streaming platforms, do both at the same time, twitch and YT.
For haters, block them to hell.
Best of luck.. and you look gorgeous.
Rough. Playing those wunderkind kids is the worst who are drilled, drilled, drilled into perfect technique. One advantage of my chess club taking place in a 21+ bar! That cramped classical French position is one of the reasons I don't play the French. Can't stand fighting against that central pawn wedge. I think I'd play Winawer or die trying!
7…Be7 is more interesting to play than 7…a6, I reckon, and also has better stats for black. Often results in black getting an attack and setting a dirty trick :). Jonathan Schrantz has a very good series on it, here on YouTube. “schrantz steinitz” should find it. Also Carlsen played a great game in this line against Karjakin, which is likely on a database near you… anyway well played especially since some of your opponents were much higher rated.
New sub here. Thanks for the recaps! It was really interesting to get to follow you through a tournament (with all the highs and lows). Especially about how hard bad beats can be 😥 …that video totally broke my heart.
Honestly learned a lot as someone who hasn't yet tried OTB tournament chess.
But atleast you got to destroy some kids along the way, lmao.
Cheers!
Dang, that kid really did play extremely accurately. Yeah that knight on d6 is probably stronger than a rook in value. The kid identified this and used his bishop to cover f5 so you are never able to comfortably exchange his knight. They will definitely get above 2000 quickly, I am curious how they lost to the 1500 lol maybe prep or blunder
Absolutely no shade. But it's just hilarious how it's so easy to get trounced by an 11yo in chess. You'd have to question your life choices LOL.
The gosh darned 94% accuracy child strikes again. Thank you for the recaps!
Tough game but a great tournament from you, well done! 🎊
Is the French Defense good for a beginner?
Please listen to your lovely editor and look more into the camera! It felt like you were avoiding eye contact. p.s. love your work
I'm a few days late to the party, but I just wanted to say congrats on the good tournament and I really enjoyed watching the recaps 🙂 I follow a few chess channels and your recaps are definitely the funniest, props to you and your editor!
