Black ops 6 zombies is seeming to be controversial within the community in regards to the way the game is being made. Lots of older players like myself prefer the old style of the mode while other players are okay with the new changed introduced in recent years. As a community, how do we see these changes and should we really focus all of our efforts in on bringing back the past? Let’s find out what the community has to say!

Havent fully watched at all, but it's funny how the thumbnail has Classic Zombies being killed, when it's always gonna be there for people. I have all the DLC for all the CoDs between Ghosts and Black Ops 4, those maps are still as grand as ever and haven't disappeared.
People just really want the quality of the old maps we had, and were disappointed with the rollout between CW and MWZ which is understandable. There's a lot of passion for the games, and it goes everywhere, with how toxic the fandom can be regarding Zombies
i think the whole ‘warzone-ification’ thing is getting blown out of proportion and misrepresented in a lot of ways. I can agree that some warzone and multiplayer elements have been added and hurt the experience like the HUD, but i think some of the elements are getting misrepresented, and i don’t think the sole intention of these mechanics is to attract WZ players. If we’re being honest, an armor system, weapon rarity system, mini-map, compass, ground loot, etc aren’t the big factors that are gonna interest or keep a warzone player in zombies, bc at its core it’s still a PvE zombies mode and some of these don’t even function like they do in WZ. No F2P WZ player is gonna buy CoD for zombies just because they saw armor plates, a mini map and rarities. I think the core of most of the new mechanics are specifically related to pre existing issues in zombies and an attempt at addressing them, rather than just being WZ mechanics to attract new-ish players and alienate the core, especially since many of the mechanics (namely weapon rarities) don’t function similar to WZ at all. It’s worth mentioning that i don’t think every single ‘warzone-ified’ feature is justified or has a purpose, but i think most of them do, and many barely even correlate with WZ. Also i respect the community interaction and encouragement a lot, it’s cool to see so much discussion
I didn't mind cold war but I feel it's so watered down compared to what zombies was and there is such a lack of tension. The lack of starting pistol takes away the progression of getting stronger as the rounds go on, nowadays you spawn in with an already strong weapon and you don't feel like you need to get any other weapon. Maybe you could say that the rarity system is just a new progression system and that's fair enough but given how the points work in these new games and how much everything costs, it just tunnels you into using one weapon for an entire game whereas in the old days weaker weapons could be used as point weapons. And don't even get me started on the absolute state of the HUD. That is a complete mess and you do not need a mini map. Honestly, it just seems like warzone has ruined zombies. Ever since cod has moved to the MW engine we haven't had anything near old zombies, which just makes me feel they can't be bothered to rebuild zombies with it's own identity and just rip it all from warzone instead. Though it maybe be more Activision forcing them to work faster and so they have to resort to this.
I'm excited too. Classic zombies will most likely NEVER come back. Best thing to do is look forward, try the game on gamepass and eventually get the game on a sale.
If they don't like the look of it then don't buy it if they are 50/50 on the game then get gamepass and try before you buy some of these people act like they are forced to buy bo6 lol
Its nice to have a creator actually not shove the same garbage down my throat.
Like FUCK guys i get it. We are all supposed to hate cod and have many reasons to be suspicious of this games success after the past couple of years.
But god damn it, im excited for this one. And i really want to see it succeed. Thank you for bringing both sides to a conversation, hope to see you all in zombies soon enough!
If the game is like Cold War but with harder main quests, I'll be at least neutral on the game. But if they add a hardcore or classic mode, then I think the game will be good.
Tbh I think that them adding rarities to the game was a smart move, they were trying to get more casual zombies players and warzone players to play the game, double tap eventually makes you run out of ammo faster, but if anything they should have kept both but made it were you have to do an easter egg to unlock double tap and make it like 15000 essence that way it could be useful of you get the chance to make it to the higher rounds
I genuinely thought I was the only person who’s excited for BO6 Zombies
Yes I know it’s okay to be excited. I am
Ngl all this controversy over liberty falls might be a blessing in disguise because it’s helping me find all these smaller zombie YouTubers and if the map is a sleeper banger then it’ll only help with terminus and dlc 1 before 2024🔥🔥
Bro I swear, I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. People were so hyped when the terminus stuff came out, but when COD next happened it all turned to hate instantly.
hell yea man, as someone who skipped out on the MW reboots and everything after that Ive been missing cod So Its really nice to come back for BO6
It ain’t gonna be good. It’s gonna be too easy and filled with warzone mechanics. Give me classic, challenging zombies or give me nothing at all
I am all for the mechanics that are being added to zombies, but I think they could tie them to Easter eggs a little more. The dragon strikes in Gordon’s Krovi were tied to a quest and had a zombies aesthetic to it. I love the style of the Mangler transformation, but I think in order to unlock it you should have to do an Easter egg.
Zombies in space land is in my top 3 zombies maps. The sheer amount of things you can do on that map is insane.
Honestly i hope yall new age players that lobe easy zombies and cameo grinds love this game Honestly but fuck treyarch for trying to make it seem like this game was for ogs they literally havent made a good game in a decade i didn't care about cold war because it felt soulless and its just a cheap revision of the original story especially with where there going in bo6 why bother bringing back eddie and samatha
Damn the zombies community is young, I started with BO1 when I was 20, and I'm more of a mulitplayer guy, so my opinion is that of zombies noob. I already didn't like the changes they made in BO3 so any changes moving forward can only be a good thing. To me WAW and BO1 are the best Zombies games. I did enjoy cold War and am excited for BO6
What if they made the point values different for certain weapon classes, for example:
Shotguns, LMG’s and Marksman’s give you 90pts per kill.
Smg’s and Pistols and Grenade Launchers give you 150pts per kill.
Snipers and Rocket Launchers give you 200 pts per kill.
Maybe not these exact point values and maybe not these groups of weapons, but I think it would be a better system.
Part of me can at least see where the anti BO6 zombies camp is coming from, but on the other hand i cant fathom how or why people want to play the same game mode with the exact same mechanics from 9+ years ago. I cant play bo3 or prior games anymore without getting bored af by round 20
Popped up on my feed, video is pretty good man! Keep up these zombies videos brother
imo they should do shield and armor in bo6 another thing id love them to change is the outline of map specific items such as the fuse underneath the plane on die machine to not have an outline and just have prompt like 'hold X to pick up …' id also like to see the old point system return at some point i don't care when i just want it to return because lets say if you're in a coop game you bleed out and die when you do respawn if it's pass like round 25 then you gonna have a hard time getting points because you only get points per kill not per hit like bo3
NO. Just no bo6 looks like warzone not zombies and bo3 is not being fixed there are more and more problems with it because of Activision refusing to fix it because of bo6
No straight up if you want to get rid of the fundamentals of a mode to cater to a new audience you should fail
I haven't commented in regards to this topic yet, but I wanted to add my two cents after viewing it from afar for the last week or so. I'm not excited for BO6 (though, other people can be and that is totally fine. I hope for the game to do well and bring the community back together. It's never fun to see talented people fail to deliver on something). From WaW-BO3 I bought every game and all their DLC, $110-$120. What I got in exchange were excellent campaigns that felt unique and exciting, a replayable multiplayer that I would spend the entire year playing, and a replayable zombies mode that continuously got expanded on, both in terms of its gameplay and overarching story. To me, that was a great deal.
Fast forward to today and the game is actually cheaper because it's $70 (DLC is now free, which is a good thing). However, the campaigns no longer feel unique or exciting (I liked Cold War but it felt finished before it even started. I like the concepts that they had going on but wish they were able to expand on it. I do understand the troubled development that game had.), multiplayer now feels like an eSports competition 24/7 and so I'm left with paying $70 to only enjoy 1/3 of the game. In that context, it is more expensive now. If i'm paying $70 for just zombies, it better knock my damn socks off. I enjoyed Cold War. Lemme rephrase that, I enjoyed Die Machine in the midst of a pandemic. The DLC for CW was literally unplayable (it would brick my console) and by the time they fixed it I lost all interest. We're now out of the pandemic and I'm now well into my adult life where my money is being stretched thin. I can not justify spending my money on CoD unless it somehow surpasses BO3 in quality, and I just don't think that is possible. I'm not gonna drop $70 on a game I'll enjoy for a month or two and then not play it again. By the time it comes down to a reasonable price, it'll be too late to enjoy the game. The next CoD will come out and everyone will move to that since this series has been annual for nearly TWO DECADES.
For all that (and more but this feels like a not brought up point) it's unlikely I'll play another CoD in the future. I'll watch some people from time to time, but I don't think I can get excited for any release. I want to close it off with this: I hope that this game is fun. I hope that people feel like they've gotten their value out of it. I hope the devs get the time and funding they need to make great games. To learn from mistakes, listen to feedback, and do better with each attempt (this is a big industry wide problem of only giving people one chance to make a billion dollars like that's somehow possible). And I hope the kids who play it and their sequels will grow up and look back fondly like I do for the classic CoD games (not just the zombies, MW was also incredible).
The issue its : Classic Zombies gave us so much good lore, maps and WW had a reason to be there, maps and gameplay felt on point. Honestly i would have preferred for zombies to have a new history or continue on the chaos route because the Dark Aether was supposed to end back then and somehow they revived it and the reason wasnt good enough (was for money).
Killstreaks was bad since the first installment.
Loadouts made zombies more cammo grinding than anything else, majority of people defending it its because its easier to grind cammo on zombies than MP.
Size of maps arent an issue (for me), im still hoping for a transit remake but as of now im not so sure cause map wise, they have not made a good map with lore since BO4 (and BO4 was bad).
Chaos Route would have been better than milk something that was finished.
New zombies you cant feel for the characters as you are using an operator as you were back in classic, cinematics feel more like : its there and what?
Sorry for my bad english btw and this its what i think of it as a Zombies player since the first installment.
Yeah im not hyped, i get the whole needing to cater to a new audience but its gone wayyy out of proportion. Its not even the same thing anymore, cant say with an honest face that this is zombies. Just because the "graphics improve" doesn't mean its going to feel good. Oh also the story in the new cod games zombies kinda suck.
I'm not willing to have another Infinite Warfare. I don't want to see a great game drown in hate because the community didn't like one of the maps, or some such shenanigans. I want to see this to succeed, and I hope to God it does.
Thanks for letting me appear in the video. And yes, one of the main reasons why I liked Cw much more than the others is simple "Friends." Yes, it's very crazy and everything, but during all my time playing zombies, I never had a group of friends who played it with me until CW (Even though it was only one) and my boy, that changes everything. Another thing is the replayability since the old zombies were ehhh let's say there was no reason to play, what was the point of going up in rounds? And the main quests were mostly either not possible alone or I got bored doing them alone. Leveling up in Bo3 and Bo4 seems very tedious and super slow to get the improvements. Something I forgot to mention is how boring and easy it is to go up rounds in those games, repeating the strategy over and over again, reaching a point where I preferred to abandon a round of 67 in Kino Bo3 to play Fortine with a friend, I would like to continue but I already told you. you get an idea that lots of things I dind't like of the other games were ehh changed? In Cw
I’m excited but skeptical…
So I have been playing zombies since world at war and I think Cold War found a good mix between old and new, the old Easter eggs were crazy and had to YouTube to complete them, Cold War was easier to complete without hand holding like ww2 did where it was the focus and they wanted you to do that, I will play Cold War purely round based or do the Easter egg but the older games like bo3 which I still play but it’s purely round based bc oh how intense those Easter eggs were
I actually enjoyed Cold War Zombies, though I miss the art style and atmosphere BO3 and even BO4 had. Just my issue is Liberty Falls and some of the mechanics being changed when they were really good in CW (except for the points system).
Naur, zombies is pretending to be something for the zombies community when it is for the multiplayer player base instead of zombies now, the anti cod has become cod
It don't gotta be classic it just gotta be more simple yet difficult
What map is this
The way I see it is that we can like what we are doing with current zombies and past zombies installments. I think gameplay wise CW beats BO3. It’s more replayable and while BO3 has the Gobblegum system, I find that CW just feels more fluid and requires A LOT less of me to actually just pick up and play. Having objective markers leading to power is a great idea for maybe the first few times you boot up the map and have actually gotten to the power a few times. Then after that it turns off the objective markers in subsequent games. I think BO6 will please the most people it possibly can with both sides of the fence being happy (for the most part). Been playing since BO1 on the Wii (yes I know, it sucked) but I’ve been a huge zombies fan since BO2. Great video and hope to see plenty more from you!
I just think to make wall buys and mystery box usage to be useful, just make every weapon on the wall and in the box be at orange rarity at all times, and if you want to stay with your loadout, you can choose to level it up or grind it, its pretty easy
Different opinion yeah u got paid by treyarch so ur getting blocked and sent to federal prison
Iv been playing zombies since bo3 when I was like 9, but have played very single zombies. Bo3 was the best game overall because of its gameplay, atmosphere, & maps. But Cold War in my opinion is the most FUN zombies by far. Yes it’s atmosphere and maps weren’t as good buts its gameplay is so fun.
Every weapon was viable, No perk limit+wild perks, wonder weapons were lowkey goated, progression was streamlined, specialist didn’t feel useless, the list can go on. All of those aspects made the game more fun.
And now that Bo6 is taking that gameplay style and adding systems that I liked from bo3 like weapon kits and gobs makes me hyped as fuck.
It’s genuinely so refreshing to see a new cod YouTuber who doesn’t spout out the same repeated boring opinions, thank you for seeing the games for what they actually are and not being blinded by nostalgia 😭😭🙏
I really liked when how you progressed through the game from having a pistol/bad gun with a few bullets to a maxed out weapon with so much more left to do. I think the new zombies are doing that aspect wrong. The first few waves are really fun. The progression is everything. (Btw the map ur playing looks very good)
13:41 i agree 100% players are to blame for current state of the zombies mode
still excited for bo6
fuck it is going to be good
I'm excited to see what they improved on
I’m excited for bo6 my only concern is it being way too easy and Cold War was just too easy and stopped playing after fire base Z.
And your YouTuber chopper said if you play on a new account on Cold War it’s just as hard as any other cod zombies game and I said no way so I had to test it for myself and so I got on my Xbox with a new account and started with the 1911 and I didn’t buy a door and didn’t buy a gun and surprise surprise I got to round 16 just in the first room with the pistol !!! So yeah big lie chopper Cold War is super easy
How dare you like something, filthy casual
