Lost Ark has, so far, been about people going fast and making progress, rushing all the way to T3. But daily checklists can have side effects, and you might miss out on all the effort the devs put into the journey. In a recent LAO ON, they admitted that adding too much vertical progression too quickly harmed peoples ability to enjoy the whole game that they’d made.

Lost Ark has way better story than WoW ever did, so FU Bellular
Check the #'s in a month. It's P2W and Daily Grind.
530 mokoko seeds in yeah, playing it your own way makes it a ot more fun, getting collectibles and doing what i want to do it's more freeing and it doesn't feel like a chore.
Lost ark is a lot like BDO. You need to condition yourself to pace yourself and just enjoy the experience and not try and compete with the tryhards and chase the carrot, otherwise you'll end up burnt out and frustrated.
I'm enjoying Lost Ark at my own pace and not at the "get the big stuff right now! No, right now! Why aren't you following my easy-to-grind guide?! Why aren't you listening aaargh!" speed with reactions that seem to be on the rise. I don't understand most of these systems and currencies and I don't even expect that I ever would in spite of the reading and research I've done. So, with the constant "AAAAAHH" in my head, I am simply enjoying the story and the adventure for what it is.
I have played Warframe so this is nothing to me
I purposefully slowed down at 1050ilvl and am just doing all the stuff i rushed past for profression and im having so much more fun. My alts are on full rested because i dont even want to play with them yet. I started out sprinting but im in it for the marathon now
2.50 in…. where is the Excel link?????!
Us this comment as the down vote (unlike)
I don't see it being something I stick with long term. Too many systems, currencies, tasks, restrictions etc… Its already kind of annoying me a bit tbh
Chores. One of the many reasons I quit WoW and all other MMOs besides ff14 which I treat like a single player game and avoid the dailies like the plague.
Question.
Is the blame because of WOW.
Is like after FF14 show then everyone is doing it……
based
Belluar talks about daily stuff while EU players staying on 16k que and even they in game they can't enter dungeons except solo or trying 30 minutes to enter with your friend at least 30.
people want to finish the game in a week… its a mmo…. its a relationship not a 1 night stand
the state of the eu servers might just force me to stop playing it hasn't been too bad for me cause I can play outside of peak time but it's still really annoying not being able to play half the time cause the servers are shitting
if they count the players in the Queues as actively playing, i would dare to say that the number isnt even half that big. more players are waiting than actually playing
Frankly, I feel like anyone saying that "people are missing the point and playing the game wrong"… is probably missing the point. If an MMO makes people feel like that have to do something, it has already done something wrong in some respect, and it's not the players collectively who are wrong. Doesn't make it automatically a bad game though, but putting the fault with the players is suspect.
I hit 1060ilvl and have just been doing collection stuff for the time being. The game is what you make of it for sure.
To me LA is whatever you want it to be. An adventure game to be explored. Same reason i enjoyed Guild Wars 2 but with a combat system I enjoy a lot more
I do a mix of things, and enjoying it. I'll be doing my own thing, randomly hopping from island to island, then do a una's task, do a chaos dungeon, do a cube and fail, then gather some stuff or help a guildmate. If I want to learn how to do something fast (like I need an emote or a ship upgrade to finish the quest but have no idea how to find the item), then I'll google up a guide. But otherwise, I don't wanna rush through the game. I'm not in a race against anyone (that I know of). Catching up with the newest event is pretty fun too.
Ye if you need distraction from the natural progression , there's a design issue
I did the "race to the top" thing with EverQuest in the '90s and then WOW in the '00s. I'm just enjoying the ride with Lost Ark and GW2.
Anyone who already has an ilvl of 1000+ 100% gets no pussy and that’s a fact
The actual gameplay is so addictive and fun, but action RPGs (Diablo and clones) always hook me like this. I just hit 50 last night am in only the 3rd story area you have to actually sail to (Steampunk Island I'll call it) and the progression and combat have been sooooo fun but man I'm looking at the collectibles I'll have to go back and do later and it is pretty daunting for a completionist like me. I do notice that the enemies are now scaling harder than my power levels despite me hitting the 10th level (and thus powerful tripods) on 4 abilities now. My main issue is that I had the microstutter problem a lot of people did and resolved it by disabling vsync but occasionally it seems like you can get "hung up" and stutter a bit when grazing "walls" and sometimes on opening a card or a cutscene load there is stuttter/delay. I wish it was optimized better. The biggest weird point for me compared to say Diablo or Grim Dawn is how the trash in this game are…..trash. They give zero xp and no loot drops, they literally just exist for you to spam through your 3-4 huge AoE nukes and melt away. Man what a power spike it was to hit 40 and unlike Holy Sword as Paladin too, I nearly one shot several bosses/minibosses.
Also, yes the story/voice acting is the weakest point of the game.
game already ruined
Already quit due to the top down playstyle… just cannot handle it.
LA is sadly something me friends cannot get to like and i also feel like theres some major design flaw on it, the whole leveling content is so easy yu never get to learn or properly play your class and once yu hit max lev the game starts to content lock yu heavily behind the grindfest ..
i havent dropped the game yet but i think this will happen rather sooner than later
f2p designs just sadly .. does not fit with fun game design for me
People are rushing against gold inflation. True end game is outfits. Outfits bought with shards. Gold is extremely valuable right now, I have close to 600 dollars worth of shards on NA if I tried to buy that many shards on RU.
I like taking my sweet time with this and really enjoying it. I have done almost every quest I have come across I am in no hurry. I agree though about the complexity of some of it. I'm like at lvl 42 and I had a head start lol. I own an island which I have not done hardly anything with and just recently got a boat holy crap. I have a bank full of stuff I have no idea what to do with half of it. I know part of it I need not worry about till I hit 50 but wow its a lot of stuff. I will be watching lots of You Tube to figure a lot of this stuff out.
I think this is really important. Progression will come to you no matter how you play, you will just get there slower. But who cares? You will never beat whales swiping cards, and from what my friends who played KR server, it requires a ridiculous amount of money to progress with real-life currency. They told me not to spend any money other than cosmetics, which I have no problem spending my money on in any game (for cosmetics). Actually, I like whales who buy my mats for unreasonable gold lol. Making so much money by selling mats I get from that are tradable, while I slowly progress with bound materials from chaos dungeons. I just love exploring island after island and listening to music. The music in this game is absolutely phenomenal.
Reminds me of genshins release. It's literally not a race. It's a game.
There's some art to enjoy along the way.
Game's a chore. What a disappointment.
I'm probably the odd one out but I really enjoy grinding in a game where the gameplay is good. I also don't care how long it wants me to play it, the longer the better haha
I love the pvp in this game and I'm waiting for ranked. Thats about it. I refuse to be one of those people that are fiending for gold grind. It's not healthy
Every mmo gearing system is an RNG grind. Westerners are just use to grinding for RNG gear drops rather than chance upgrading. I truly prefer this system. Even though it can be frustrating, I still have a solid degree of control to what pieces and stats my grind is allocated.
This game is going to come to a big crashing halt.
Server authentication failure 10010 best mmo ever
People bitching about the harshness of the Pay to Progress mechanics, obviously have never played Archage lol at least this game has a cap
i think ppl really dont understand how bad t3 grind is. for me, i just decided to pretend pve doesnt exist and just do pvp, which, by some miracle, is something you can just DO
Recently I was watching a streamer who has been playing lost ark for thousand of hours. So I asked him about the amount of time required. He told me the following: "not that much, only 3 hours a day". I am baffled how distanced some people are from the reality of 3 hours a day being quite a lot.
Trying to keep up with hardcore/no-lifer power gamers is like trying to compete against world record holding athletes. Don't do it. Aspire to be better, but never try to actually compete. Unless you want to throw your life away for it; because that is exactly what those people did. And you don't want that.
^_^
im looking forward to the endgame lol prob gonna be my game for awile lol .. till next big game… i mean i played osrs since like 2005 or somthing >:"D
I don't understand the analogy of 1.3 million players with queues, those people want to play and not be in queue so why they wouldn't count?
