  1. I really hate low catch rates in these kinda games. Sure, for legendaries or rare creatures, I get that. But when you have trouble catching anything on like the second route, then something is really wrong imo.

  2. They should really change their monetization model. It's too grindy and P2W. One review says that the level cap is 5 and you need to grind to get an expensive recipe to increase the level cap or pay irl money. Hard pass.

  3. my girlfriend and I have been playing pretty regularly since launch (on PC) and we've actually been liking it a lot. A lot of the "pay to win" accusations are WAY overblown. By monster tamer standards, sure, it's grindy, but as an MMO, especially a free-to-play one, it's really not that grindy at all.

The problem is that the grind is frontloaded, so when you first start the game, it SEEMS like the catch rate and levelling is going to be a huge problem, but once you get past the first 2 routes, the game gets no grindier than the average pokemon game (and it's very possible to get all the wild monsters using only the money you get from defeating trainers and doing quests. I mostly did it even before the patch, and even still, there are dailies that give you money alongside selling materials that drop from wild monsters).

I think another thing is that my girlfriend and I are used to playing MMOs like WoW classic, final fantasy, runescape, AQW/AQ3D, etc, so we kind of expect an MMO to tell us to go grind on wild encounters for the first hour or two of the game (god every quest in early WoW boils down to "kill 15 kobolds and bring me their loin cloths as proof"). Monster taming fans might not be used to that, so they see a game that looks like pokemon, expect it to be paced like pokemon, and then get hit with the hard reality that this is an MMO and that means a certain amount of grinding is going to be present (and again, the grinding goes down SIGNIFICANTLY after the first 2 routes anyway)

  4. Will not play that one, as you said the combat is neat, but not really feeling the rest, been playing the first Nexomon though, it's alright, certainly they could've done better because a lot of convenience things are missing that the 2nd gen of pokemon had, like looking what skills a mon has at the PC etc.

  5. I played this game few days ago in Android and it's so hard to kills monsters…you have to constantly heal and fight to monsters… It's use energy for kills… After playing 30-50 min I uninstalled it

  6. It combines the worst aspects of Pokemon, MMOs, and mobile games. Even if you grind your way past the paywall (or pay out your nose to remove all the bullshit), your reward is one of the worst pokemon fan games I've ever played.

  7. Yeah the low catch rate of this game is absolutely something the devs need to fix. Heck if you spend real money on better capture devices they aren't even GUARANTEED TO WORK so I cannot even recommend this game to anyone because that seems like a method to milk kids out of lots of money. Like if I was the devs I'd either remove the payed capture devices and find a different route to monetize the game that wasn't so crooked or I'd adjust them so they normal capture devices had a 40% capture rate at low HP. That way the pay to win capture devices would at least border on always working as long as you weaken your opponent since, from what I recall, it only doubles the chance of successful capture.

  8. Honestly, I might give this game another shot. I will however, need to make a new account because I wanna start from 0 (didn't get far though).

I would rather pay for it than have to pay for items. I wish it was like Coromon and Nexomon Extinction.

  9. I've been playing for less than a month and the devs are really active on the discord and work continuously to update this game, personally i think it still needs work but for a monster taming mmo its great especially being an Indy game.

It is a bit grindy yes but what mmo doesnt have some kind of time sink, and for those complaining about P2W aspects of the game they obviously havent played it. The only things you can buy with gems are the other starting evos you don't choose, cosmetics and certain items (of which you can find plenty of them in hidden locations). It also has an ingame economy where shiny and highly sought after genetic codes can sell for premium currency you just have to find the right buyer.

I've beaten all of the content so far and almost captured everything on the first island and I haven't spent a dime.

  10. The problem with monster taming and MMOs is that they mix like water and oil – since you have an army of fighters at your command, there is really no need for a party of players, which is what MMOs thrive on. Trying to have multiple monster tamers fight raids gets very clunky. I'm not saying that Monster Taming MMOs can't happen, they just need to make compromises to work out well.
