Preparing for Life on Mars – Exploration of the Red Planet

There’s just something about Mars that draws human curiosity. It’s no surprise that Mars has held our fascination for generations, what with all the attention it’s gotten in science fiction and popular culture, and the fact that robots have been sent there to explore since the 1960s.

  1. Why we need to go on another planet if we can restore the earth by stop fighting so much stop putting so much unnecessary ozone in our surroundings, stop being greedy stupid people who like to own the world alone, stop being def of what they need to hear good things to consider and contribute what we need to be done.. i understand people why they want to do what they like but i hate to understand people who like everything they seen in this world and even it cost a lot of danger from everything just to get what they wanted they'll do it, that's not how you call it restoration of humanity.its destroying itself.

  2. We are decades away from colonising mars. We haven't begun colonising the moon yet. We are screwing up the earth, should we really be planning on despoiling other worlds?

  3. Dr Edward Weiler…what a douche. He's like the ultimate negative Nancy. He has permanent "resting bitch face" its like he's angry they actually have a good, workable plan. He reminds me of one of my first bosses. I was young and had a ton of "good ideas" and me and my crew thought they were good ideas but I always had to run them past him for approval and he shot them all down. So I quit and went to work for someone else. He listened and would make little tweaks or suggestions that I either took or discarded and was given the ok to "see how it goes" and not all turned out to be great but some were and we would discard the garbage and keep the good stuff. Sometimes we would only discard some and keep the rest. Point being, he allowed us to try. And in the long run we got better and more efficient and the old company I worked for went out of business. This guy seems like a jerk that won't even listen. He's already made up his mind.if left up to him we will never leave earth.

  4. Robert Zubrin is a way-out-beyond-left-field, pathologically narcissistic, run-at-the mouth, forgetful-of-all-real-logic, self-appointed, "expert". He wants to kill astronauts, one at a time, spending tax dollars in a very expensive, wasteful manner. The Mars Society convention of 1998 was something that was, ultimately, forgotten, and rightfully so; a large bunch of Zubrin-cloned, illogical enthusiasts. Unfortunately, they were being brain-washed (like Jim Jones in Guyana). Therefore, this gets a very emphatic thumb down. 👎Si Yo Nara.

  5. Tumbling the ship to create gravity is a ridiculous idea.
    EVA Would be impossible.
    Course corrections would be impossible.
Usable space would be cut in half.
Moving between the two gravity ends of the ship would be very difficult and dangerous.

  6. Overall it's not a bad video. But there are some pretty substantial inaccuracies here. And a couple people in this video make me wonder how in the actual fuck they got this far in life with the bullshit coming out of their mouths.
